Notes: Ahh, my first imagine of The Winning Try! I love this kdrama sm and since there are very few stories (on here, ao3 & Wattpad) I decided to write my own. 🥰
Today had been a pretty chill day. You had finished your training earlier than usual and didn’t have any other plans. While walking out of the shooting range, you decided to go visit your boyfriend at his rugby practice. You hadn’t done it yet and it had also been a week since you had seen each other, so it was a win-win.
You arrived at the field and sat on the bleachers, putting your bow case next to you.
He didn’t notice you at first until one of his teammates pointed you out.
Ung looked at you with wide eyes, a little confused, but gave you a big smile and a wave.
You smiled tenderly and waved back.
You watched him practice for approximately 40 minutes, your eyes never leaving his figure.
To say that you liked the sport or even understood the minimum about it would be a lie, but you had to admit that you had a good time.
The team was a well-oiled machine, which made things interesting to watch.
Before you knew it, it was over.
While the boys picked up all the materials that were used during practice, they were laughing and smiling teasingly. You wondered what was happening over there.
Turns out, they were messing with Ung. The boys knew he had a girlfriend but didn’t have the pleasure of meeting you.
“You’re telling me that your girlfriend is actually real? I thought she was made up.” Myeongu joked.
“She is.” The tallest laughed. “Why would you think that?”
“Maybe cause you never showed us a picture of her?” Yeonggwang pointed out.
“Or brought her to meet us? You know, your best friends?” Seonho dramatized.
“Okay, 1. I literally have her as my wallpaper.”
“Her back’s facing the camera.” Hyeongsik interrupted him.
“Whatever.” Ung laughed. “And 2. We’ve been dating for less than 2 months, so I wanted her to meet you guys in a few months, not right away. I wouldn’t like to bring a girl around for us to break up a few days later.”
“Okay, that’s understandable.” Seongjun nodded.
“If things go as planned, I’ll introduce her soon.” The brown haired continued. “She’s very kind and easygoing, I’m certain you’ll get along just fine.”
“Oh, look at his ears.” Juyang pointed out as he laughed.
“You must really like her. I’ve never seen you red before.” Yeonggwang noted.
He nodded with a shy smile. “I do.”
That made all of his friends melt. Ung was such a sweet and shy guy, shyer around girls, so seeing him like this was cute.
“Awww, our Ungie is growing.” Hyeongsik teased the younger.
“Leave him alone.” The leader came to his rescue but laughed as well. “We’ll finish cleaning up, go to her. She’s been waiting for you long enough.”
Ung nodded gratefully. “Thanks guys. See you later.”
“Bye, lover boy!” Myeongu spoke louder as he turned around and ran towards his girlfriend.
The boy laughed and shook his head. All of his friends were such menaces, but they were the best.
You watched as your boyfriend jogged in your direction, stopping at the start of the bleachers.
“Hi, baby.” He greeted you as you stepped on the first row, looking a little taller than usual.
“Hi, sweetie.” You kissed his cheek and hugged him. Actions that flustered him and made his eyes wide.
After a second, he hugged you back shyly.
“What was that for?”
“I just missed you.” You played with his hair, your cheeks turning red.
His hands moved to your waist, a habit he was developing. He liked resting them there, whether you were lounging on your dorm, walking on the street or just existing near him.
“I missed you, too.” He made a bold move and kissed your nose, which turned your cheeks an even deeper shade of red. You even hid your head on his neck, making him laugh softly.
You were so adorable.
Since you were closer that gave him the opportunity to kiss your head.
“Stop teasing me.” You pouted.
“But you’re sooo cute.” He smiled tenderly as you looked at him. Both of you had looks of adoration in your eyes.
He helped you with one hand to hop off the bleachers and with the other, he picked up your case.
Ung never let go of your hand, even intertwining your fingers with his.
“So, how was practice?” He asked as you walked away from the field.
Catching up with him was definitely your favorite part of the day. And if it could happen in person rather than on the phone, you would come to his practices more often, for sure.
