Mutton, Munoora, Fado and... a mask!
I think I’ll post Mutton separately. he big
Mutton as the Fierce Deity with Munoora
It’s part of my AU “Majora’s Mask 2: Electric Boogaloo” (no, not really)
How often time flies
((Authors note: Munoora belongs to @painted-bees. So does this iteration of the mask salesman))
Munoora brushed off the small wood shavings from the block of oak in her hands, blowing them onto the floor. She was practically surrounded in wood chips. While this didn’t make a huge mess of the shoppe, Keat glanced down at the bits of wood around his friend and smiled nervously.
“How can you stand to have all of that mess around you, Noora?” he asked calmly.
Munoora glanced up from her work and stared at Keat.
“It’s not that big of mess.”
Keat furrowed his brows at that statement. “Mm, no it kind of is.”
I did a thing
Bonus:
just a little falma dump
@salami-dono reblogged something and mad a mention of an alternate Falma and i just took it from there!
i did some scribbles on the sides cuz I ran out of ideas that looked good.
I had an idea that after Mutton had offered numerous times for Munoora to stay at the House of Skulltula, and her declining the offers, she decides to surprise him one day. It doesn’t go exactly as she hoped.
Munoora couldn’t stand being alone at the Happy Mask Shoppe. She wondered where everyone else had gone. Even with her mask, it was difficult to communicate with her clients. Fado and Salami didn’t show up at all that morning. The inventory manager was, well, deceased so she couldn’t be upset about it not being there. Salami’s little Poe friend manifested at the shop sporadically.
And Keat... No one came forward with information on his whereabouts.
“I wish Mutton were here,” she sighed.
Mutton! Although she insisted she was fine living alone in the shop, she could really use some company today. Kakariko Village wasn’t too far away. She hoped Mutton wouldn’t mind her dropping by unannounced. But first... she had to deal with the crowd in front of her.
She took a deep breath and adjusted her mask. Munoora asked the clients to leave as she was going to close the shop early, citing the lack of helping hands. She waited by the door until the last of the visitors wandered out, apologizing to all.
With everyone gone, she packed a few essentials for her trip to Kakariko. The most important items being the Keaton Mask and the key to the Happy Mask Shoppe.
She cautiously stepped outside and observed the sky. It wasn’t too late. If she hurried, she might be able to reach the village before sundown.
The sun was falling faster it seemed as Munoora spotted the entrance to Kakariko Village. The village guard beckoned her to hurry inside before he closed the gates. She made it just in time! The guard briefed her on the lodgings: an inn straight down the road and the house that once belonged to the famous Sheikah woman, Impa, which was open to all.
Munoora asked the guard where she might find the House of Skulltula.
“That old shack? You sure you want to go there..?”
Munoora paused then nodded, holding the mask to her face. What did he mean by “old shack”?
Hidden a short ways into the woods was an abandoned house. She spotted holes and cracks in the walls and boarded windows. Was this the right place?
She removed her mask as she approached the door. She felt safe around Mutton. She didn’t need to wear her mask. But, when she knocked on the door, someone else answered.
Forget that! She smacked the Keaton Mask against her face.
“Oooo, who might you be~?” They asked her in a sing-song tone.
Standing before her was a pink-haired stranger wearing a frilly pink blouse along with a lengthy skirt. Eep! Mutton mentioned he had a few other brothers, didn’t he? She didn’t plan for this!
“H-Hi! I’m--”
“No, no, don’t tell me! You're Mutton’s little friend, aren’t you? Munoora!”
“Yes...?”
“Oh, how delightful! I haven’t had a guest in soooo long! Come, come! You will join us for dinner~”
Before Munoora can even think of what to say, he motions for her to come inside and a mysterious force pulls her inside the decrepit building.
Pinkel, the Magician
The house was in terrible shape. The candles barely lit the room, the floor was dirty and giant cobwebs covered the furniture piled up against the wall. And how could they have dinner if there was no kitchen? As far as she could tell, there was no Fabulously Rich Family living in Kakariko Village.
"What do you think of the interior design, hm?" Pinkel smirked, watching Munoora with amused curiosity.
“Do I have to answer..?”
Pinkel giggled.
“Where’s Mutton?” Munoora asked softly.
“Oh, him. He should be at the graveyard on the north side of town...”
She turned to leave but found herself stopped by a wall. Somehow, Pinkel made the entrance disappear. Munoora was trapped in a room with no exits.
“I wouldn’t stand too close to the walls if I were you~ It might get a little dangerous.”
Munoora hurried to the center of the room with Pinkel. She didn’t ask for this. Suddenly, the walls began to shift. The wood creaked as the house stretched, revealing hidden chambers. Gothic furniture pieces paraded around Munoora with their thin, curvy legs, settling down in the room.
“M-Magic?” Munoora asked.
“Yes. I put a charm on the house. It allows me to change its appearance but only on the inside. I’m sorry for frightening you. I didn’t mean any harm."
“Please... I just want to see Mutton. No more tricks.”
He nodded and watched her leave quietly.
Down by the Cucco farm, Munoora spotted Mutton at last. She ran over to hug him. He bent down to return the affection with a tight one-armed embrace.
“Munoora, did you come here by yourself? Is... everything okay?”
She told him she felt a little lonely at the shop and came to surprise him. After asking him if that was okay, he responded with a gentle kiss. He then carried her up the steps to Impa’s house. The guard eyes them suspiciously as they entered.
“By the way,” Munoora said as Mutton’s attention turned to her, ”I went to your house and met one of your brothers...”
“Oh no... Which one got to you first?” Mutton dreaded the answer, whoever it was.
“The one who likes pink.”
“Pinkel... What did he do this time?” Mutton sighed, rubbing his forehead.
Munoora laughed and began to tell him what happened.
The END?
I guess that’s it. I’m sorry if it was a drag to read. I’m not a writer. I imagine Munoora stays in the village overnight and returns to the castle town the next morning.
This is how I feel about it. Wait, I have a gif for it!
(It’s the grandma from Mulan asking Li Shang bisexual icon if he’d like to stay forever.)
Ms. Munoowa!! PWEASE!!!
Something that I took out was the detail about the skylight of the Skulltula House. In Pinkel’s illusion, there’s a giant Skulltula on the ceiling. Its skull shell glares down at intruders. Pinkel using magic is an idea my friend Eshi had. I thought he would use magic to do chores but she brought up a charm idea that I LOOOOVED.
It is now canon.
Mutton and I - we would die for Munoora
Since I’m here @painted-bees Can you tell me how tall you think Munoora is? pls help
