Remember how I called Clingy 2D and Clingy S/O two peas in a pod, well you two are just two peas in hell

If you had noticed, I had placed the phase as any time after plastic beach, because that's when Murdoc would become the most clingy, especially right after plastic beach

You see, plastic beach was a very traumatic event for him

Being isolated from the outside world, he lost most of the comforts he had become accustomed to

And while it wasn't entirely visible by just looking at him or his actions

I could see him developing attachment issues, paranoia, and maybe even some fomo(fear of missing out)

As he's scared to lose it all again

And its most visible in his relationship

Clingy Murdoc is just kinda terrified you'll leave him at any time as he's come to the realization of how fleeting everything he has in is his life is and that he could loose everything and anything at any moment and that scares him

And it's not like he communicates any of this to you, no

So clingy S/O is left blissfully unaware as to why their boyfriend wants to keep them within eye range constantly

And he'll gladly accept being loved up on

well first because it inflates his ego, and because he's scared if he says no you'll be just that much closer to leaving him

He gets very clingy when hung over, but if you're clingy when he's hung over, he gets weird

Murdoc likes to be in control of situations and if S/o's clingy to no end he feels a bit like he doesn't have control over the situation and it makes him feel vulnerable, and we all know how he feels about being vulnerable

He also has an issue with if his S/O is to clingy in public or infront of the camera

Side note Mudz refuses to be clingy much when in public or infront of a camera

He has a reputation to uphold

He doesn't want to be seen as soft or week

And I'm a fucking broken record when I say this, but

Murdzy thinks showing love and real emotions is weak

And so if Murdoc feels his S/O being too clingy in a situation where he thinks it reflects on him in a way that makes him look soft, he will start getting pissy

And may start pushing S/O away

And than S/O gets upset because Murdoc doesn't communicate why he's pushing them away, and than it becomes a fight

So there needs to be some boundaries please

But it's a different story for the most part when at home

And none of the band members are around

Because then he's a clingy little shit who whines like a little bitch if you do as much as get up to go piss

And you can't image how hard it is to get out of bed it is with his clingy ass

You shift around in bed, trying to ignore your blasting alarm. All you can do is groan as you try to get up but are unable as the weight of your boyfriend holds you down. Sighing you crane your stiff neck to look at the green man as he lays atop of you seemingly unbothered by your alarm, though all you can see is a mop of greasy black hair as his face is lodged in-between your shoulder and neck, this was accompanied by the sound of his snoring, which the second loudest thing in the room besides your alarm. It's amazing he could sleep through it, really, but you sure as hell couldn't. So, with a sigh, you tried gently moving Murdoc off you so as not to wake him because you idoticly left your phone just out of reach. You were doing well with getting Mudz off you, you could hear his snoring up until his back connected with the mattress, then you heard a husky groan, a chilling sound curtesy of your boyfriends morning voice. "Shit, sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up..." You apologize as you sit up. Without opening his eyes, Murdoc roled over onto his side and threw his arm over your waist, his hand landing on the other side of your hip. "Where ya go'in..." he said more like a statement than a question. "Can you not hear the alarm?" You say as you run your hand through his hair, enjoying the contact. "Juz, throw something at it....." Murdoc answers as he shoves his face into your side and breaths you in. "Murdoc, I have to get up," "nooo, no, you don't." "y-yea, I do," "noo.." This back and forth would continue, with the alarm screeching angerly in the background, and you truth be told didn't really want to leave the embrace of your boyfriend, so you stayed there for two hours, till you actually really needed to get out of bed, like seriously.

I mean good thing S/O's clingy to because his behavior can be straight up intrusive at times

Like, privacy? who's that?

Type of guy to walk in while you use the bathroom to brush his teeth

If you take a shower, than he's taking a shower, and I don't mean that entirely inappropriately, he just enjoys showering with his S/O

He has a need to be in your vicinity constantly

He's extremely awkward and uncertain of what to do.

He'd ask if you would like some tea and search the whole house to find the flavor you like. Hell, he'd make sure to go and buy it if he didn't have it.

If your love language is physical touch then he would also make sure to give you some soft pecks to the cheek and offer to cuddle.

If it's quality time, then he would suggest to watch your comfort movie / show. Perhaps play some video games and curse everyone's bloodlines.

If it's reassurance then he would do his best to let you know you're an amazing person, deserving of all the love and care. ( Admittedly, this would have him question whether he is the right person for you or not. )

He'd also ensure you're as comfortable as possible, with blankets, plushies and anything else you may desire.

He may not be the most attentive person but when he tries, he goes all the way.

He'd cook and clean for you. The very definition of male wife. Whether it's well done or not. . .that's another story but you can't really be mad at it can you?

there's a chance he would be very reckless and buy you some gifts.

Murdoc meeting somebody that shares the same interests as him

at first he's kinda defensive

he's scared that you are going to take his place

when he realizes that you, in fact, are not going to do that, he's relieved and enjoys your shared traits to its full extend

(it takes some time and convincing tho)

partying with you???!! hell yeah!

all of the time that you two are spending together results in lots of insiders that you two quote very often

when you told him that you like "music that goes hard" as well and told him about some of your favorite songs and bands, that man felt heard

Murdoc: He would either be trying to flirt with the parents or maybe just sitting on the bench, relaxing and enjoying the outdoors, as well as occasionally laughing at whatever the others are doing

2D: Hes playing chase with the kids, oh and hes the one being chased while the kids pretend to be zombies and run after him. Hes doing all types of "parkour" moves, from sitting on top of the jungle gym, to standing on top of the slide

Russel: Hes probably just walking around enjoying the nice weather, also helps a cat out of a tree for an old woman. He also was the one to suggest this outing because he's planning a pinic after everyone gets done

Noodle: Playing on the swings, seeing how high she go up in the air and jump out of the seat and how far she is thrown, Only to run back and do it again

Ace: Bullying kids, placing bets with the teens, winning the bets, terrorizing the kids again, running away from the kids parents and hiding in a tree, only for Russel to help him down

Gorillaz/Murdoc Headcanons

Feeling manic but don't have the drive to really work on something so have some headcanons I've come up with lol

Murdoc got the snip when he was in his late 20s(after seeing 2D get slammed with child support)

Is VERY serious about safety in regards to sex

wasn't always worried about it but after dealing with the clap a few times, he started using condoms every time unless he knew the person well.

after the aids epidemic started growing he was even more careful

because of the abuse he was put through by his father, consent has always been a top priority for him. Despite his general demeanor he's a very courteous partner

Murdoc seems to be the only one out of the four that knows they're animated characters, so, he has some control of how he appears to others(3D cgi, two-dimensional animation, a puppet, etc.)

Does not have control of the style, however.

Style is always the same as it is currently. (If it's 2016 he'll be like in the Saturnz Bars or Strobelight videos. He can't randomly look like 2004 him in 2020)

At some point after Plastic Beach, before Humanz was being written Murdoc went to rehab.

He got quite a few chips, but relapsed.

Technically he's never started over, but he is more in control of himself and his habits now.

He absolutely struggles with technology. As in he's had the same phone for years, and hates using new electronics.

Same MODEL phone. The physical phones end up smashed or broken on a regular basis. Sometimes he does it during a tantrum, sometimes he drops it in thE bAFf

He is actually very talented when it comes to building computers and making his own OS's(Cyborg Noodle)

If he didn't write the code himself he'll be at a complete loss and will take forever to learn how to operate it(idiot savant, much?)

If it's for an album he'll figure it out(with a lot of whining)

Mechanical engineering and robotics has always been his "plan b" and is how he made his way before Gorillaz took off

Absolutely worked in a chop shop at some point

Is fluent in English, French, and Spanish. Also knows some Japanese thanks to Noodle.

Likes to point out that he also knows "American, Canadian, AND Australian"

He has built up and lost a lot of his record collection through the years but he has a few albums that he's kept since he bought them new.

Has also kept the same copy of The Satanic Bible since he first bought it

Steals things by accident.

Usually small things that are on endcaps or near the register. A lighter, chapstick, earbuds, gum, etc.

Only realizes he did it when he gets home and finds random things in his pockets

Honestly doesn't do it on purpose, he's just spent so much of his life surviving that way that it's just second nature now, like breathing

Murdoc has ridiculously bad anxiety.

He's always self-medicated with alcohol, drugs, whatever else might work

Unfortunately he is part of an older generation, and he avoids doctors at all cost.

Therapy is basically out of the question

He gets the added bonus of not remembering his father/childhood as much when he's drunk/high

When he's sober he is twitchy af. Always bouncing his leg, tapping his nails on a table, walking around for no reason.

It's really easy to spook him when he gets like that
