I have a hypothesis...

I think that male axolotls are dumb and females are pushy. Even at a very young age, my axies had distinct personalities. Now that I’m raising another batch, I can’t help but theorize about their sexes! I wanted to get more anecdata from other axie owners about personalities and sexes. What do you all think? - Murdorito

Hmm, you pose an interesting thought. I definitely see clear personalities as they grow, and if I think about it, my females are very pushy when it comes to feeding time. They hoon up to where the boys are being fed so they can stuff their faces. My two biggest, and biggest eaters are female. 

I feel like you can also sometimes tell a female before they mature, not always, but Captain Grouch is a good example. She already has that wider head, and body shape. She looks so much like Dickie in body shape, so even though she isn't old enough to be sexed, I'm 90% sure Grouch is indeed a female.

#1 advice: make sure you don’t overload the tank and CYCLE IT BEFORE ANY FISH GO IN. No goldfish ever they are filthy. Bubbles are not necessary but a filter is. Live plants should do fine in regular substrate!

ah ok, i was def planning on cycling it!! i figured i would do a gravel substrate w live plant and a couple fake 4 the betta 2 rest on, heater n filter n just like 2 or 3 tank mates

*hugs* I know that feel--took me years and years to figure out my sexuality, and then I figured out I had my gender wrong, and now I'm just at 'whatever'. Some people are good at being definite about these things, some aren't, neither is wrong.

nah man it's all good. No one ever has it figured out 100%, it's just different percentages for every person. =w=b

that's comforting to hear from both of you - i feel like i really don't here that much about being unsure, save for the occasional jokey tumblr post. even making that post was one of the first times I'd ever talked about it. so thank you; i'm grateful to hear that. :)

it's a little peculiar - I have a lot of kinks that I wouldn't discuss irl but don't bat an eye at mentioning here, like gore and self-flagellation and stuff, and then there's This One. idk, maybe it's because it's tangled up in some personal stuff, or because I don't see it in fandom as often. The anonmeme atmosphere was actually really helpful because it helped me get used to the idea of That Kink being acceptable and okay to have - I even managed to request a fic involving it once and was super-proud of myself for it! - but then the anonmemes all started to die. :(

unfortunately, i reformatted my computer not long ago and lost a lot of my files, including my fanmixes—there's a chance i might have them backed up on my external hard drive, which is up at college right now, but i’m honestly not sure. i will check on that as soon as i can (i’m driving back up today) and let you know. sorry about that and i hope you have a wonderful day as well!!
