We visited the deep and never ending pain cave today and completed Murph for the third time. My time wasn’t what I had hoped, in fact I think it was worse than last year (though I can’t be certain because I forgot to write it down) but I’m always proud that I have the physical and mental capacity to complete a WOD like this.
Sometimes a work out is just a workout, but Murph never is. it’s a long slog of sweat and squats and chalk, punctuated by a mile run that makes you feel like your legs might actually quit and fall off of you. I am slow and I can’t do pull ups without a band or that many pull ups without going to my knees, but during Murph, moving forward is the only thing that matters. It’s an appropriate workout to do on Memorial Day to honor the men and women who died fighting.
