OLD  FAMILY  PORTRAITS

THE ANCESTRAL HOME(S)

The very first picture Mycroft passes when he leaves his privat cinema room in TFP, and follows the ‘ghost of little Eurus’ upstairs, is that of an old beautiful manor house. It’s placed next to the three Holmes ancestors I wrote about in ‘Red-Beard and the other one’ and ‘Lady Holmes’. Because of that placement one could easily assume that this is the ancestral home of the Holmes family. 

The funny thing is …. this manor house doesn’t look anyway like the one that is presented later in the same episode as ‘Musgrave ... the ancestral home, where there was always honey for tea’. 

Of course, the Holmes family could own more than one ancestral homes …. After all, Sherlock has also  to deal with two ‘first cases’ where ‘he began’ and Mummy Homes is described as genius as well as ordinary. So who knows ….

And there is somthing else I noticed just now, while comparing the two ancestral homes …. from this point of view ..... Musgrave has three gables …..  hmmmmm ….

NOMEN OMEN

This isn't a real meta, I'm not pretty (at all) good at numbers, and I can't quite play with the words of a language that isn't mine. But S4 is the series of consequences and premonitions together. There are thumbs that itch, premonitions, is also quoted an horror movie that has a title that is a prediction: OMEN. And it's also a series of upside-down letters, and mirrored images. When I saw this stone I read NEMO HOLMES, but also OMEN HOLMES.

NOMEN (EST) OMEN, by Plauto, it means that destiny is tied to the name, that the name itself is a prophesy. Holmes means a piece of land surrounded by water, hello Sherrinford. But it could also be NOMEN est OMEN, NEMO est HOLMES, and rejoin the theory of the orphans.

I made a post about how I wanted to make a collection of parts we didn’t get to see in TFP. (Honestly it might end up turning to missing pieces from all of series 4 if people help me with ideas.)
