I made a post about how I wanted to make a collection of parts we didn’t get to see in TFP. (Honestly it might end up turning to missing pieces from all of series 4 if people help me with ideas.) Well I posted the first chapter! This will be a master list that will be updated when chapters are posted. Links included! :) The newest chapter will be above the ‘read more’ line. Chapter 1 - John waking up in the well.
Chapter 2 - Sherlock and John’s reunion once John is pulled out of the well.
Chapter 3 - Sherlock explaining who Victor Trevor was to John.
Chapter 4 - Why was Molly having a bad day?
Chapter 5 - Sherlock meeting with Molly to explain the phone call.
Chapter 6 - Mycroft trapped by himself in the cell in Sherrinford, having to wonder whether Sherlock is dead or alive.
Chapter 7 - Sherlock explaining to John that the little girl on the plane was Eurus.
Chapter 8 - Greg ‘looking after’ Mycroft
Chapter 9 - Sherlock and John’s trip home from Musgrave
Chapter 10 - John seeing Rosie for the first time after the events at Sherrinford.
Chapter 11 - Sherlock getting rest and learning to cope with emotional trauma (I can already tell you this might take two chapters)
Chapter 12 - Sherlock living in John’s flat until 221B is rebuilt.
Chapter 13 - Sherlock’s thoughts while going through the rubble of 221B.
Chapter 14 - Sherlock and John’s conversation after they watch the video of Mary.
Chapter 15 - Who Sherlock texted “You know where to find me - SH” to and what the result was.
Unfortunately, John had passed out far too many times.
Usually it was because someone had hit the back of his head. One of the one’s that stuck out the most was when Moriarty had decided to strap a bomb to his chest and send him into a pool. Then there was the time he’d been kidnapped by Chinese smugglers. Honestly, he was surprised he didn’t have brain damage.
Then of course there was the time he’d been injected with a drug and tossed under a bonfire. That was probably one of the single most terrifying moments of his life.
But there was something different about this time.
Sherlock was holding a gun to his head. A loaded gun that had already killed an innocent person that day. Sherlock himself knew the gun was loaded, John had seen him check it. There was no way he could think that Eurus was bluffing.
John’s heart was in his throat though his demeanor stayed calm. Sherlock couldn’t do this. He just couldn’t. John had already watched Sherlock die once he couldn’t do it again. Just as he was about to yell at Sherlock for being ridiculous and to stop counting-
There was a prick against the side of his neck. Sort of like a bug bite. His hand went to his neck on reflex and he pulled away an object he couldn’t quite identify… But he was already feeling its affects. He looked up at Sherlock, the gun was still to his head but he was looking at something too.
John didn’t have time to process it. The last thing he remembered, and the image that would be ingrained in his mind for years to come, was Sherlock with that loaded gun to his head.
He didn’t even remember hitting the ground. There wasn’t any black… there were no dreams or sensations… It was as though he was suddenly somewhere else.
Though that somewhere else was someplace he couldn’t identify.
His awareness came back to him slowly, but the first thing he processed was that he was cold. His shoulders shook with a shiver and John’s eyes slowly adjusted to the low source of light. Moonlight, he realized.
Then he realized he was sitting in water. A noise of shock left him and echoed against the hard walls around him. John pushed himself up and felt terror rise even higher in his chest as he realized he was chained to the bottom of whatever this was.
His breath started coming hard and fast, but John knew he couldn’t panic. Not now. He closed his eyes, took long deep breaths through his nose. Deep breaths. Calm.
‘Soldiers.’
He heard Sherlock’s voice ring through his head. Oh god, Sherlock. Was he still alive?? Had the gun gone off? John wracked his brain but couldn’t remember.
Suddenly there was a crackling in his ear. John put his hand up and realized he was wearing an earpiece. A crackle again and then, “Are you there yet?”
John breathed a sigh of relief. Sherlock. It was Sherlock. “Yeah, I’m here.”
I want to make a fanfiction series of all the missing moments we didn’t get to see in TFP.
But I want to do it in chronological order. To do that I’ll need to make a complete list first. They’ll be as canon as possible. Right now these are the ones I can think of, but please send me an ask with other ones that I might have missed:
1. John waking up in the well.
2. Sherlock and John immediately after John is pulled out of the well.
3. Sherlock explaining who Victor Trevor was to John.
4. Sherlock meeting with Molly to explain the phone call.
5. Mycroft trapped by himself in the cell in Sherrinford, having to wonder whether Sherlock is dead or alive.
6. Sherlock explaining to John that the little girl on the plane was Eurus.
7. Greg “looking after” Mycroft
8. Sherlock and John’s trip home from Musgrave, the Holmes Estate.
9. Sherlock getting the freaking rest he deserves after this whole mess, but not overlooking the emotional trauma he must have sustained.
10. Sherlock living in John’s flat until 221B is rebuilt.
11. Sherlock’s thoughts while going through the rubble of 221B.
12. Sherlock and John’s conversation after they watch the video of Mary.
13. Who Sherlock texted ‘You know where to find me. -SH’ to and what the result was.
Like I said, tell me what I’m missing or something you’d like to see. I’d like to keep this collection canon-ical, (by canon I mean things that explicitly stated either by show/actors/creators, not subtext) but I might make some stand alone pieces that are more shippy. :)
You didn’t win, you lost. Look what you did to her. Look what you did to yourself. All those complicated little emotions, I lost count. Emotional context, Sherlock, it destroys you every time.
