Kade/Kara: R&B, I think.

Michael/Margot: If they like the chorus of a song then they’ll enjoy it. Doesn’t matter the genre. (Though they do enjoy Classical.)

Blaine/Blaire: Pop. Just cheerful songs.

Wren/Wynn: Good ole’ country and/or whatever comes on the radio. (Or what Scott puts on.)

Nicholas/Natalie: Instrumentals and/or Orchestral. It’s why the majority of their playlists consists of movie soundtracks.

Eliza: She’s fine with anything, but she adores older songs. Like Frank Sinatra, Roy Orbinson, Stevie Wonder, etc.

Oliver: Classic Rock.

That’s a really good question! Let me think…

Peter Pan: He’d definitely listen to Pop type songs because of how fun they are. Things that make you airy and don’t weigh you down too much in the process. I also think he’d un-ironically love boy bands; Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, or Big Time Rush.

James/Jasmine: I think they’d gravitate towards classical music or instrumentals. As that feels the most familiar to them but they’d also listen to things that would just completely rival Peter. Like his boy band obsession with the Backstreet Boys; J would listen to the Slashstreet Boys.

Tinkerbell: I’m just going to imagine Tinkerbell’s soundtrack is from different movies. Because I can totally see her jamming out to her own soundtrack from various movies. Like Float, Strange Sight, or Great Divide.

Lyra: I feel like if Lyra heard Céline Dion she’d immediately fall in love with her voice. Not to mention if she heard My Heart Will Go On. Or just the Titanic soundtrack in general. Lyra, although she doesn’t show it, gets homesick fairly often. So anything that reminds her of the sea would be on her various playlists.

Hunter: Probably a mixture of anything. He’s so used to be around differing opinions so much (the Lost Boys bicker) that he’d enjoy anything to tune them out. But he’d also just enjoy many different things. From Nirvana to Dua Lipa.

Music Taste

My biggest pet peeve or turn off from someone is when someone feels the need to go out of their way and give me their unwanted opinion about mine, or anyone else’s music taste.

 Like saying “THAT’S NOT MUSIC BECAUSE... (Insert your shit ass opinion I didn’t ask for).” 

If I’m going out of my way to share you with something I find enjoyable, and you can see and hear that I’m excited. Please, don’t be a rude and tell me that it’s horrible. You can politely say you’re not feeling it, and THAT’S OKAY! But trying to bring someone down based on what they listen to speaks VOLUMES of you as a person or trying to say what they listen to is trash.

Honestly, we all relate to music differently. I’ve gone through so many hardships and lonely times that the last thing I want to listen to is something super sad, something that makes me have to think, because I’m always alone, so my mind is always thinking (usually the worst of things). I just want to listen to numb minding music that takes me to a place where it’s always sunny, warm, where I can dance like a fool and sing at the top of my lungs and FEEL GOOD doing it! Music to me takes me to a happier place even just for a moment in time, it lets me escape my reality. 

Like I’m not going to sit there and try to explain to every person why I don’t have many emotional, sad, or lyrical, or slow songs, so please, just take the other person music preference and accept it. Because we all relate to music differently and if you wait around long enough, maybe you’ll finally understand why that person likes the music they do.
