“Would you block someone just for disagreeing with you?” Pal, I’ll block someone for agreeing with me in the wrong tone of voice.
No but seriously the United States desperately needs to have a discussion about segregation against the disabled in our school systems and we can start with how anti-masking and perfect attendance policies have forced medically vulnerable kids to either put themselves at grievous risk or pull out of school all together
My experience was years before covid, but those Perfect Attendance Policies meant kids were coming into school seriously ill, which meant my immunocompromised ass would get sick too, and I would get so sick I had to miss even more school, which led to the school sicc'ing the truancy officer on me because I was ruining the Attendance Record, which forced me to drop out because it was better than being arrested
Now imagine being a kid like me during a global pandemic. It's all "the kids need to be back in schools!" until you remember the schools don't want disabled kids
It's not just contagious diseases either. You can't even ban a common allergen in your class because a kid is deathly allergic to it without a mob of moral crusaders yelling about how if little Timmy doesn't get a peanut butter and jelly sandwich every day for lunch society will collapse, why should special treatment be given to ONE kid (who will die if they breathe in peanut particles) at the "expense" of others, peanut allergies are over diagnosed because "they didn't exist when I was a child!" (they existed, it's just that those kids died from their allergies without you noticing), why not just put the allergic kids in their own class (literal segregation), and so on.
Bringing this back for Disability Wrath Month and the fact that school starts up again soon
gripping the shoulders of every youtuber ever. look up that unfamiliar word before you pronounce it. especially if it's not a word from your native language but honestly double check the ones that are native to you if you've only seen them in writing. you will thank yourself later.
Have been trying out new methods of shading and it's actually pretty fun, but it also makes me feel like this

it bothers me when someone brings up misogyny in shounen anime and people shrug it off with "its designed for teenage boys, what can you expect." like well. idk i think its actually pretty important that shows for teenage boys are normal about women. i mean i think all media should be normal about women but teenagers are impressionable i think we could put a little bit of feminism in the teenage boy shows. it might do some good. you never know.
