TELUSA TELUSA ft. SYMMARAH (Part 1) (Part 2 here)

A Tollywood art study. Some written stuff about this under the cut!

- Okay, so a couple of months ago I started actually looking into all the Telugu love songs I’ve been listening to, and finally found the movies these songs came from in YouTube. I stumbled upon the video song of Telusa Telusa (composed by SS Thaman), from the film Sarrainodu, and it stood out to me as one of the most breathtakingly romantic videos I’ve ever seen. - The first couple times I watched it, I realized, there was no way I could not make Symmarah illustrations for it! It’s too good of an opportunity to pass up, and I feel the serene beauty of it would suit Satya’s taste so well. Here, Satya is Mahalakshmi (Rakul Preet) while Fareeha is Gana (Allu Arjun). - I have continued commentary on the Part 2 of this photoset! Please check it out and share as well  ╰(*´︶`*)╯

- I headcanon Satya as a lesbian, so I feel she wouldn’t appreciate the romantic parts of Tollywood films fully (her fave parts would probably be all the dresses and the dancing). When Fareeha comes into her life, she finally gets to experience the real joy of loving an individual (aside from herself). So this song gave me a space for reflection of the feeling they’d experience being with each other. - I’d imagine this as Satya dragging her Egyptian GF along in elaborate, super extra photo/video shoots just for the heck of it. Fareeha doesn’t understand Telugu, but she’s grown to be a fan of Telugu cinema through Satya. So why would she refuse her darling’s request? (˘∀˘)/(μ‿μ) ❤ Check out  Part 1!  (っ˘ω˘ς )

SLEEPOVER ft. SYMMARAH

The music video was really pretty and so relatable, so this came to life. I thought that isolated gay girl feeling fit in Satya’s personality well. More than likely, she has insecurities and personal yearnings locked up in her stern covering, so that’s why she’s Hayley. Fareeha is Rose because she can be unabashed like Rose is in the video. Also, Fareeha’s protector personality I feel…makes Satya feel safe and assured, much like how Rose is Hayley’s comfort. Even if it’s all fantasy.
