What is that one achievement in your life you’re most proud of? I'm quite an autodidact (is that how you say it in english?) I learned english mostly by translating songs. The teachers I got in high school were the worst. I wanted to learn Japanese for a long time now but don't have time to do it but thanks to Arashi, I surprise myself the other day when I understood a group of tourists’ conversation here in Paris. I was ecstatic!^-^
Your first ever celebrity (or fictional character) crush. My fist ever was an anime character from an old anime called Goldorak in french (UFO Grendizer) and I know now it was only popular in France and a few countries. The hero was named Actarus (picture here) I would come back from school and wait for it to begin with baited breath and my heart would beat loudly in my chest lol. and OMG! the guy is very Matsujun-poi, with the eyebrows and all! I guess It was destiny ^-^
Do you prefer taking pictures or having your pictures taken? Take pictures. Definitely! I have only few pictures of me. I'm so shy I want to disappear sometimes!
Did your tastes in music change much over time? Nope! I still love a great variety of music and to tell the truth, I listen to the same music for like 5 years now. New songs seldom reach my playlist these days (apart from Arashi of course) I think I’m getting old. I only have one regret though and it's classical music. I envy you guys because it feels like classical are treated like a popular genre by everyone in eastern Europe and Asia whereas, here, only some snob so called elite group listen to it. I try to educate myself but it's hard. Do you have any recommendations for beginners?
Any favourite accessories? (pictures? :D) I love bracelets but I wear them only occasionally. I love hats; I think my head is my main accessories as I love changing my hairstyle every 2 months. Here is a collage I made for my cousin the other day. It’s strange how I look very different depending on the hairstyle
Do you usually plan everything out or you’re a spur-of-a-moment kind of person? I'm like Sho. I plan everything everytime but, BUT, big twist: I practically never respect anything lmao so I end up improvising. My motto : always late but always on time (it's better in french : jamais à l'heure mais toujours dans les temps)
If you lived in a fantasy world, what kind of magical powers would you like to have? I would be a mutant in a parallel Marvel universe as I used to read the comics in my teenage years. I would be a mix of my two most favorites X-men, Phoenix and Storm (the movies kind of ruined them and focused too much on wolverine when really those two were real badasses and still are). I want the power to control object and complete Magneto evil wish of erasing the homo erectus and let the next step of evolution go into full force
Your #1 book and movie recommendation. I like classics. It’s a volume of poems, “les fleurs du mal” (the flowers of evil) by Charles Baudelaire. I really like France 19th century authors; especially the “Romantic” Era. A favorite of mine is "Invitation au voyage” the tribulations of the souls fascinates me. For a real novel, “The Picture of Dorian Gray” from Oscar Wilde and the 1945 movie adaptation was great too. My most favorite movie is the 1961 “West side story” musical (I like old things, I know ^^), not for the lead actors but : 1- for the support cast (Rita Moreno portrayal of Anita was strong and the class act of George Chakiris for his role of Bernardo still make me flail) 2- for the DANCE (America choreography is awesome). I’m a sucker for great choreographies. Recently, I fell in love with the first movie from a young Director “Geraldine Nakache”. The film is called ‘Tout ce qui brille” It’s a very sensitive and subtle movie about growing up in the suburbs and I kind of identified with the girl she portrays in her film. She’s definitely on my list of director to follow.
Do you have a favorite colour in terms of the clothes you wear? Yes, it’s black, blue, red and purple (even before Arashi ^^). Mostly black though, maybe that’s why I still look like teenager. I’m so not girlie lmao
Something that made you laugh so hard you cried. Literally anything, a joke, a book, a movie, something that happened to you. This is so easy! Arashi in vsA, whenever they put on a show and lose! I just laugh like a mad girl. The most was their earlier shows when they would put (fake) tantrums and scold each other and have urgent meetings! That was the best!!!
If you had to do a short self-introduction, how would you introduce yourself? Eh! I don’t know how to do that! I’ll more likely say: “Hello, I’m Maricha and I’m an old soul who still feels really young. Nice to meet you!
