Yikes! Sounds like a version of this email would be totally worth sending. How rude!

I sent the “This looks great, but here’s my details for next time” version. I did not point out the gaping ethical failures. Even though this is the second time they’ve pulled this, which makes me doubt it was a mistake (its a surprisingly easy mistake to make, I totally gave them the one pass, but I’m doubtful about two).

When I visualize myself as a basket case, I’m a literal broken object, scooped into a basket & put away somewhere safe until I can find the right glue to mend it. So: I bet your problems are fixable, all u need is the right glue, and you’ve probably already got some in a metaphorical drawer of handy objects / coping strategies! And don’t forget it’s ok to spend some time in the basket while u figure stuff out :)

I believe in you!! I'm visualizing you knocking it out of the park. It looks like this: you with a heavy baseball bat. a long table with all the supervisors etc. You wind up and strike the table with your bat and cry, "I did the SCIENCE!!!". The table and all the scientists are propelled out of the room, the building, over the mountain. From côte-des-neiges you hear a distant cry: "good sciencing! Keep it up!"
