I just love dwarves in general and I love Gimli. He is so beautiful to me. I only gave the pink circles to the "I've given [him] more personality" and "I wish we saw more of [him]" because there is literally so much shit going on in LOTR I think we just cannot get deep into the weeds with every character LOL. I also mildly ship Gigolas, its not a big OTP or anything but the fanart is incredibly good and sweet and I can definitely see it making sense. And I was also wishy-washy on the "from a special interest/hyperfixation" thing because I've loved LOTR for a long time but I've never gone fully insane about it like I have for some other stuff lmfao

And the asterisk is because...... I am always a hater about adaptations 💀 I just can't get over the things they change when they adapt a story from one medium to another, I always get irrationally mad. And one of these things is that I get really annoyed with how they treated Gimli in the LOTR movies. They turned him into this silly stupid comic relief character and it makes me sad. So I would like to see him represented more seriously like he is in the books..... but I also literally do not trust anyone to do it right 😂
