College Gothic

You hoard food. You carry maps. You leave your shoes on all the time, even in the bath.

You have not slept for weeks. No one has slept for weeks.

Everyone is fashionably late. No one is fashionable. Someone is wearing a hairshirt.

You are separated into groups with names in dead languages. You drink from a communal barrel. 

People go without clothing as a result of archaic rituals. 

After a week of icebreakers, everyone knows your name, your major, and a fun fact about you. They know too much.

You bought your textbook used. You ignore the writing in the margins.

Poetry 101 is in Latin.

Everything is in Comic Sans.

In the library, a stranger asks you to guard their stuff from other strangers.

Someone is sitting in your unassigned seat.

Someone is screaming in the hallway. “What are they celebrating?” you ask your roommate, even though you both know that no one is celebrating.

Netflix asks, “Are you still watching?” The answer is yes. The answer is always yes.

The college radio station plays numbers read on a loop. You ask someone why, and they tell you that there is no college radio station. Radio is obsolete. 

The bulletin board is always full of flyers. One day, there are only two flyers. The cafeteria has been closed by the health department until further notice, one says. Missing, the other says. The next day, there are no flyers. Paper is obsolete.

Due to budget cuts, every professor must teach two classes at once. The football stadium grows larger.

You look at the clock. It is five minutes before you last looked at it. It is always five minutes before you last looked at the clock.

Someone is standing in the football stadium. They are too tall to be human. 

It’s just a basketball player. What is it doing in the football stadium?

The girl who sits in front of you in Gen Ecology is watching Parks and Rec. She finishes the first two seasons. You are still in Gen Ecology. She finishes all seven seasons. You are still in Gen Ecology.

Nobody has seen Chad for five days. Another Chad takes his place.

You have a doppelganger on campus. You have never seen them, but they attend your classes on the days you skip. You don’t say anything. Participation is 20% of your grade.

Attempted Deligracy’s Studio Cube challenge. The theme I went for were some of my DND characters. The first one (The one that kinda has a green theme going on) is inspired by my character Tome of Secrets. She was a Great Old One (Later switched to Celestial) warlock who was an archeologist who accidentally roped herself into a warlock pact. She has a small little area with things inspired by her “current” Patron like an emerald, a golden frog statue, and a couple little items that are blue. Also there’s scrolls just above that as a reference to her past patron. The second one (the one that is pink with mint touches) is inspired by character Alta, a Ghost in the Machine warlock. She’s like 11 so I wanted it to have a bit of a childish touch to it. I didn’t play with her for as long so I couldn’t really put things to reference her arc as much. However I wanted to show her interest in technology and gaming.  The third one (The dark blue one with a loft) is inspired by my character Tad Pekins. He’s an inquisitive (I think that’s the sub thing) Rogue who is absolutely based on Darkwing Duck. I wanted to get that family vibe in here by having hints of a kid running about the place. I also don’t know if the duck shelf is noticable in any of the screen shot lol. Also the loft housed the main bed (I pretended that there was a second room for his daughter by putting a second door on the main floor) and the vigilante corner lol. I think the last picture shows the vigilante corner with the camera set right above the bed. The last one (red is the main color) is inspired by my character Welby. He is a bard....with the subclass being creation??? The one in Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. I only used him for a one shot that we were considering to make longer, but that didn’t really pan out. He’s inspired by Wirt from Over the Garden Wall. If it had gone longer, I would have asked the DM if there was a way I could have multiclassed him into warlock. Yes, there were hints to the Beast Wirt AU. The sims I was play testing with that you can see in the screenshots are inspired by the Party (and a couple NPCs) from the campaign with Tome in it. The one in Tome’s in the green jacket is Tome. The one in Alta’s are Lucky (the one in the white jacket. She was played by one of the other players) and Sunni (the one in red. She was an NPC). The ones in Tad’s are Rusty (the guy in the dark brown jacket. He was played by one of the players), Lucky (again), Sayra (the red head cooking. She was played by one of the players), Flea (the one with white hair. They were played by one of the players), and I can’t remember the kid’s name by they were an NPC related to Sayra. And IDK if anyone is in Welby’s room in these screenshots... This is up on the gallery under TheBardsCipher No CC. Used ShowHiddenObjects and ShowLiveEditObjects
