im gonna need 20 business days to process this
A close mutual and I were chatting, and being the filthy flirts and dirty teases that we are with each other, we got to talking about butt play. Being eager to share my slutty side with her as always, I explained how much I loved having my ass played with and how submissive and gay it made me feel. Upon seeing that, my friend gently responded “you know that ass play doesn’t mean gay right baby?” I felt slightly embarrassed as I re-read what I had said to her and processed her response. As I was starting to feel self-conscious about the seeming ignorance of my statement, she immediately reassured me that she wasn’t judging me, which helped to settle my misapprehension.
My friend wasn’t being mean or critical or judgmental, she was just trying to make sure I understood that one didn’t imply the other. But I immediately felt slightly embarrassed with my statement, and a little misunderstood. Of course I don’t believe that enjoying being on the receiving end of fun ass play makes one gay. One can absolute enjoy it and not be gay. It certainly wasn’t my intention to correlate the two together in such a way.
But I said what I said because there is a side to me that is decidedly not straight, and I totally get off on being called and acknowledged as such. I’m a huge fan of using gentle and positive dirty talk, teasing, and taunting to accentuate the heat of the moment. When I’m feeling especially aroused, submissive, and/or vulnerable, hearing myself or the things I’m enjoying referred to as gay, or other appropriate metaphors, just feels so good in so many ways, and not just because it adds to my arousal. I feel like a side of me that I often keep suppressed is being recognized, admired, and appreciated, and that I now have permission to express and admit that side me without any sort of fear of judgment or rejection. It’s a way to allow myself to be at peace with, and come to accord with, my sexuality with a person I feel appreciates that side of me and won’t use it against or hold it against me.
The truth is, I’m bisexual. I’m attracted to men as equally as I am to women. I don’t really try to hide it here on Tumblr. I have no problem posting sexually explicit or suggestive pics of other guys enjoying each other, it turns me on. The thought of two or more guys in a relationship together is something I’ve always found hot and sexy, and I fantasize about it often.
Outside of Tumblr in the real world however, I’m very guarded about expressing that side of me. Most people I meet assume, by all appearances, that I’m straight; I’m married, I have a wife and a whole tribe of kids, and everything about me, from my lifestyle to my family, basically scream straight, hetero dude. I was also raised at a time, and grew up in a household where you spoke in hushed tones and/or feigned surprise or mild disgust if you spoke about someone being gay. My parent’s culture also valued machismo, and any sort of effeminate traits marked you as less than a man. In other words, it was something you hid or didn’t speak openly about, and you certainly didn’t share it with others. If you didn’t want to be rejected or mocked, you kept it to yourself. Of course, those are ridiculous notions today; the times and opinions have change on sexuality, and LGBT people can proudly go about expressing themselves in the open, as they should.
So why then do I still keep my sexuality guarded? Mostly force of habit at this point, but also because I’ve had painful experiences in response to my sexuality. I have been made to feel judged, ashamed, and rejected by people who I was very close to because of it. It’s a hurtful and depressing experience to be told by someone you care deeply for that your bisexuality is unattractive and unwanted, and that they can’t think of you the same way anymore. It’s not an experience that I care to repeat, so I keep that side of me very close to the chest and I show it only to the very few people I feel very comfortable and safe with.
Being bisexual, straight, or gay doesn’t define who I am, and I don’t want it to. I’m more than just my sexuality. But there’s also a deep desire to be able to express my sexuality. Being called gay when I’m feeling vulnerable and submissive, with a loving and caring partner, be it a man of woman, who accepts and admires that side of me, allows me to embrace that part of my sexuality when I would otherwise be uncomfortable or unable to do so. Of course I wish things were different and that everyone was open-minded about sexuality, but we all have complicated lives and experiences, and what we do and how we choose to live and express ourselves is often influenced by them. I’m just doing my best to be me in the best way I know how.
I can’t say I’ve never touched a woman because I still remember rubbing my hand over my name stealers bathing suit bottom feeling her clitorus in the pool to make my ex boyfriend jealous the summer after high school.
I do love how people online act like opinions don't exist. Of course we're gonna have different opinions?? This is my blog?
At first, I was scared to talk about this. But for the sake of self-love and growth, I have learned to accept it and be honest about this aspect of my identity.
All my life I thought I was straight, as the majority of people I ever feel a sexual attraction to a cis-men. However, there have been few moments throughout my life where I have felt a sexual attraction towards women who have fitted into one of two oddly specific physical appearance; the first type being extremely pale, delicately feminine, thin white women; the other type being confidently feminine Asian women who tend to fall in line with South Korean beauty. Because these moments of sexual where oddly specific and occur than my moments of attraction to men, I palmed them off as anomalies, and believing the myth that bisexuality meant that one’s attraction to men and women had to be on an equal ratio, or else it was invalid. As I began to learn more about the complexities of human sexuality, (separating the myths from the facts and challenging my own preconceived notions) I began to realise that these ‘anomalies’ of attraction to these specific kinds of women were actually pattern that exposed a part of my sexuality that I was hesitant to except. Eventually, I realised that I had to except the proverbial elephant in the room as an act of self-care;
I am actually bisexual.
