in Hannibal S3E11 when Molly says "It's tough to hold onto anything good... It's all so slippery" and Will looks so deep in thought when he replies "Yeah, slick as hell..." as if he knows it's too late.
He tried to hold onto the "good" things in his life but what calls him is actually stronger... He tried to let Hannibal go, to get married, have a perfectly crafted family for him to be normal... But this whole... polished life is too slippery for him.
He needs what's considered bad. He needs to become. Whoever he is, no matter how dark he is, he knows Hannibal will welcome him. And this type of acceptance, of never-ending support? It's an anchor. It could never be as slippery as whatever illusion he tried to hold onto, for the sake of being a "good man".
He needs the stability, the unconditional love, the absolute reverence Hannibal can offer him, not despite of who he is but because of it.
