Clair Obscur Ending Spoilers

I just found out a detail that I'm so emotional about

The motion capture actors that played Gustave (Maxence Cazorla) and Sophie (Estelle Darnault) recorded the incredible gommage scene (video of their recording) for the prologue of the game. But then...

So the actor that played Gustave NEVER ever played Renoir the entire year they were recording for the game. But one day at the end of the day, before a time where any of the actors knew anything about the ending, the director took the actors that played Sophie and Gustave to the side and said, "You are going to be Renoir and you are going to be Aline, and you come together and love each other, you are like a couple who have been away for so long. Take each other's hands and take her in your arms and look down at the ground together," without explaining that it was the epilogue or really the context or meaning of the scene.

The two actors were confused, but they played the scene beautifully, and when they looked up afterward, they were surprised to see the director was just tearing up and so emotional because the scene meant so much to him. So the only scenes that Gustav shared with Renoir were these two specific scenes, and the director purposefully chose the actors that played Gustave and Sophie to portray Renoir and Aline to bring it a bittersweet full circle, in the prologue and the epilogue.
