Ciao! Come stai?
Switching language so that if anyone else needs this type of tips it's a bit easier! So the question is on how I manage to read non-fiction so quickly. The first thing that is absolutely fundamental is to have a good organization. When I know I have to study a non fiction book the first thing I do is check the index. I then write down on my bullet journal a list of all the chapters and the page lenght of each one (if the chapters are very long and are divided in other sections I might also write down those and their lenght). This step is basically what helps me schedule the way I will read and annotate the book, so that before reading it I already know more or less how long it will take.
After doing this I more or less plan everything (I normally have a general plan plus each week I update what I will do the next week). When I plan this I also take into consideration the fact that I will be writing down notes for what I am reading so that after one read of the book I won't need to re open it ( I talked a bit about it in this ask x).
I know that depending on the book, how comfortable with the subject I am, and the type of writing it will take me longer or shorter to get a certain number of pages done. But I know that more or less in one day I can get from 20 to 35 pages done. Again this depends a lot on the type of book, often I manage to do more, but you never know if the writing is hard, or if there's a lot of informations to write down. Also I try to do full chapters in one day so sometimes I adjust my studying schedule according to that aswell.
Normally in the morning I do my reading and highlighting, since I need to stay more focused and in the afternoon I write down all my notes.
I try my best to not get distractions so I get a lot of short breaks, but while I am working my phone is hidden and I only pay attentiln to my book and my highlighter.
I believe the two main things are a good schedule you can keep up with (always schedule at least one day more than you think you'll need. Here I have a pretty old post I made on study schedule tips that could be helpful x). The second things is to know youself, so when you are more focused, and what conditions you need to use that focus as best as you can. For example I need full silence when reading, but I absolutely need to listen to strumental music when writing down the notes.
I really hope this answer was enough, if you have any more questions my inbox is always open so ask about anything, I'll try my best to be helpful! Spero di essere stata utile e ti auguro una buona giornata !! 💜🌿
