The Crab Nebula
August’s Space Object of the Month is the Crab Nebula, the remnant of a supernova observed by Chinese astronomers in the year 1054. Though they didn’t understand what they were seeing at the time, we now know they were witnessing was the death of a star 6,500 light-years from Earth. The supernova was visible during the day for an entire month, and remained visible at night for a further two years before it faded away.
At the centre of the nebula there is a rapidly spinning neutron star, 30 kilometres in diameter, emitting pulses of radiation as it spins on its axis. This pulsar, discovered in 1968 by Jocelyn Bell, ejects twin beams of radiation resulting in the star appearing to pulse at a rate of 30 times per second.
The nebula itself spans six light-years across, and is expanding at a rate of about 1,500 kilometres per second – 0.5% the speed of light.
november 19th, saturday
zoning out and walking into the apartment next to the library instead counter: 2
struggling with biological classification and physics these days. winter brings along the desire to sit at the corner of my room and stare at the ceiling endlessly: no thoughts, head empty.
I think I might start a productivity challenge because the november blues seem unending, just like the number of forthcoming exams.

January 25th 💖
I’ve finished my close reading of Jane Eyre and somehow managed to fall more in love with this story than I already was.
Charlotte Bronte is a master of prose and language. Her writing is exquisite and I underlined so many beautiful descriptions of nature, sunsets and the moors.
I’m actually so excited to write about this book.
12/01/23 || Thursday
Unlike the picture, the day turned out much sunnier fortunately, although the temperature is getting too cold now. Listed down the deadlines to submit applications for summer internships, and did a bit of Electronics (which I am a bit ashamed to see that I have forgotten all my basics 💀)
January Master Post
Welcome to my master post! Most of these I’ve been collecting this month but others I’ve known for years. Hope you find something helpful. I miss master posts so I thought I’d make one of my own.

I've been exhausted these days and not updating this acc for months but I've always studied and also bought some books from the 4.4 campaign which very helped me earn my study motivation. Now, I'm so into Closer by RM and People Pt.2 by Agust D ft.IU and I wanna recommend these songs.
