wrt Izzy and his leg for me the thing to remember is this. when Ed shoots him it's BIG and SERIOUS and it comes right after Ed pointing a gun at his own face. we're very clearly meant to understand "oh Ed is doing very very bad right now." it's very serious bc it's very out of character for Ed to shoot a crew mate. it is a very clear indicator that Ed has reached his breaking point, he's no longer willing to listen to Izzy talk about Ed's feelings and he's completely fed up and above all else he is absolutely miserable. the guy we know who in season 1 just smiled when Izzy was yelling in his face about how much they needed a plan is completely unwilling to do this anymore. it's serious.
but also and this is essential: immediately after Ed exits the scene Izzy's rotten leg becomes a comedy bit. a big portion of the comedy in s2.2 is rotten leg centric. Jim and Archie are making out with it right there. just as the actual scene where Izzy's shot is meant to be serious the scenes afterward are clearly meant to be funny. it's only serious as long as Ed treats it seriously, bc Ed's a main character and his emotional stakes are central to the story, but the second it's done it ceases to matter until he once again enters the scene and Izzy's scenes become serious again as Ed asks Izzy to kill him. it only matters for the story when it matters for Ed.
and that's just how ofmd rolls. Izzy's not even the only character whose rotten limb is used as a gag, they did the same thing with Lucius' finger in season 1. the emotional stakes are huge! the physical stakes are not.
i am a big fan of "peril" terminology eg "girl peril" "man peril" but i realized there is a word for this. It's whump
i enjoy photography as a hobby and just for doing art but i want more out of it, what the point of you don’t have ambitious goals or want to be the best because i will still enjoy it no matter what, i wanna be in galleries, have art collectors buy my work, people hanging them in their homes for a good price that i can live from, i think these goals are achievable in my lifetime and i’ll work towards that, just need some money coming in so i can buy some film and keep shooting
DC vs Vampires had the perfect set up with Hal Jordan and it being a story that was unapologetically ironic with dark humor. But instead we got a Batfam led titles that literally imploded on itself.
Wtf was that ending? I don’t know whcih character was more dumb. Babs for whatever the hell that plan was that got lots of people killed just so she can be the new vampire leader? Or Dick for falling for that bullshit, and then dying in the dumbest way possible.
Don’t even get me started on how characters like Starfire were used. DC is so far up Batman’s ass that they let these so called professional writers take ideas from fanfic and implement them in the most horrendous way possible at the expense of their established characters.
In the end, DC vs Vampires had zero buildup, zero direction and ended with piggybacking off of a ship. That’s it. There wasn’t even barely Green Arrow content. The whole thing gets a 1/10 from me and that 1 point comes from Hal Jordan carrying this whole event.
Upside to replaying the Taylor games: Taylor! (Affectionate)
Downsides to replaying the Taylor games: Taylor! (You fucking idiot)
When I run into posts that want me to choose a "better" captain, show, character, plant, thing/- my instinctive reaction is - NO! Why shouldn't I be allowed to like both?
SW & ST, Janeway and Picard, Sun AND the Moon. I like them equally, leave me be, there's plenty of love to go around.
Enough with the labels, competitions and scales...

Have you read A Court of Silver Flames yet ? And if so what did you think ? 😊
I did It,
In 24h,
I loved the romance plot,i loved how Nesta and Cassian build their friendship and relation, and ofc i loved all the smut...L O V E D
I am very protective of Nesta, I am from the first book, so her whole path of recovery, self-acceptance, forgiveness and love for herself has been in my opinion very well described. Also new female Friends for her, yeeee, and the Valkeryes part...nice!!
now the bad part, I'm tired of Feyre and Rhysand, and now I hate Rhys at extreme levels, but I just don't understand why Sjm wrote their subplot in this book, there are other ways for Nesta to apologize, plus why no one apologizes to her? and then the end, I wonder, if you don't know how to manage these powerful characters why do you wrote them as OP ?!
my final grade is 4.5 for this
