Do you get deja vu ?
Scarian groundhog day AU where the day resets every time Scar dies except Grian is the one "stuck" in the loop when he accidently sets off a creeper bomb around Scar and kills him and can't get out of it until he can keep Scar alive for the whole 24 hrs. Scar continues to find progressively more rediculous ways to die every time Grian figures out how to spare him from one. At some point Grian starts causing some of Scar's deaths himself just to shake things up between him desperately trying to figure out how to keep one single man alive for a single day.
Eventually Grian learns that the whole time Scar was also conscious of the loop and just found it really funny. They start off as strangers, fall in love with each other through this stupid repeating day, and I haven't slept for 20 hrs help
THAT LAST PARAGRAPH KILLED ME. LMAOOOOOOO. SCAR KNOWING AND DOING IT ON PURPOSE 😭😭😭😭😭 i Love a good ol timeloop always and somehow the whole idea of a stranger has to save your life is actually so funny wait.
i imagine it would take them a while to make the connection of it has to be that guy, especially to scar. bc for scar the time would reset when he dies without anything happening afterwards. so it's more an i got given a second chance at life feeling, while grian i assume would keep going with his day (?), go to sleep and then wake up the next morning and suddenly it's the same day again. but scar maybe didn't even see grian the first time around. so scar is still at an i die by accident level by the time grian notices it's That guy it has to be that guy. and this should also take him a bit bc idk if hes setting up a bomb somewhere then surely scar's first course of action (or at least like, his first course of action once he establishes the day is def looping) would be to switch his path and avoid whatever killed him. and then he dies in some other odd way LOL so it would take them a bit to properly reunite
scar eventually also notices theres something up because the day stops repeating, and this guy seems to be getting closer? but i think he would indeed find it funny and not give it too much thought like aww look at this silly guy hes so frustrated LMAO and really i think the way he would fully understand the situation is because at some point grian just has a breakdown and vents at him the entire story. and scar is a bit. ow but i don't actually want this to end. so theres some dilemma of if i help him we might part ways.............
this ask response got so long. i love timeloops. and stupid timeloops are so much fun to think about, there's Potential here. i hope you get to sleep nicely hskjdhss
Hello hi, idk if this is normal but I was looking through your tpiam stuff and I saw the ask you shared abt how you pictured the ship and I wanted to share how your discription in the fic had made me picture the ship bc I like it very much.
It mentioned that Scar had a hand in its design and I figured with Scar being, you know, Scar, and him wanting things to look cool/having a lowkey obsession with animals, that, after the abs idea failed to get through, he'd try to make it look as close to an animal as he possibly could without it being Super Obvious and therefore the design sneaks by the higher ups.
Given the dumbbell shape, I was picturing hammerhead shark shaped. It said dumbbell esque so I figured it wasn't exact, so if the heads of the dumbbell were kinda flattened and set perpendicular to eachother it'd kinda look like the head and tail of the hammerhead shark.
And of course the solar sails are probably radially symmetrical and in many practical places. But, since they seemed to be retractable, I assume they don't all extend at once and can flare out depending on need. And, you know, if a spacific combination of sails, if extended on their own, were suspiciously in the spots of a shark's fins, who's counting? Certainly not Scar, no sir. These are Practical Sails. This is a Practical Configuration of Sails, very good for piloting.
It doesn't look exactly like a hammerhead shark because the specific shape of the ends and sails aren't perfect, and there's of course things like the domes centered on the ends, but it's just close enough that Scar snickers to himself when he sees pictures of it.
okay first off I'm laughing at "idk if this is normal" because like fuck if I know either. idk if my answer is normal either!
ANYWAY this is a really cool idea! I will have to think on it but I could see it; this is a good solution to the problem of just emotionally wanting Thing That Goes Fast to be aerodynamic-looking but the practicalities of Thing That Has People On It In Space do not necessarily make that a practical or simple design choice.
I do also think it would be very funny if Scar had THAT MUCH influence on the external design. I think it would be reasonable for Scar to have some influence but probably it's not standard for pilots to have their suggestions about the entire shape of the ship taken seriously, which ngl is a little fucked-up just because that's gonna be their body for a long time. But I like to imagine them looking at his proposal and being like "well, it's Scar... last time we incorporated some of his suggestions about the exterior, nothing blew up and the investors loved it... not the pecs, obviously."
And, actually now I'm thinking Scar might have submitted the pecs-and-abs design intentionally knowing they'd turn it down and that then the pseudo-shark design might be received more warmly because it's actually pretty good and it has no stupid space muscles.
As an aside, Scar having flown a cruise ship before now is such a good excuse to have him do this kind of nonsense. I doubt pilots had a ton more influence there either, and for his entire career Scar has definitely been perceived as kind of a silly guy, and leaned hard into that perception, but doing everything he could to keep his ship visually interesting and engaging, including suggestions like this, would have been 100% a survival decision back then (because if they decommission his ship, BEST case scenario he's losing pay while they transition him to a new ship body he may or may not like. worst case scenario they blame him for meh passenger feedback and fire him) and he hasn't gotten out of the habit of caring about that kind of thing.
Watching you talk abt mother Grian is so odd for me because literally just a few hours before you did I had made a post (privated, those are MY thoughts, recently learned you could do that) about Grian's mother energy and then the next thing I know you're talking about the same exact thing and now you're talking about the copper golum which is the exact incident that got me thinking about it. (I love his "Don't you dare talk to him like that" so much)
People calling any of the non-men on the server moms when Grian is right there adopting anything he can get his hands on. His mom energy is so very real and I love that for him.
no bc its something that has been plaguing me for a few days because Why does he keep doing that. theres an elephant in this room that i won't mention but boy it is so there. grian very much kinda gets baby fever sometimes
Currently laughing because I got directed to watching the imp and skizz poscast ep with Scar and watching Scar talk about Grian without even saying his name because he just assumes everyone knows he's talking about Grian is hilarious.
Impulse: "The season just ended, and I'm already like, seriously looking forward to the next life series.
Scar: "Oh yeah. Who knows what it's gonna be, he always seems to pull something interesting out of the pocket, but yeah. I love the series."
No mention of Grian's name whatsoever, and like, I feel like most people watching know who he's talking about because we know the life series and how it works, but it was still funny to me that he just drops Grian into the conversation like the conversation had actually been about Grian already and therefore he doesn't need to specify who 'he' is.
(Bonus when it's followed soon by Impulse and Skizz realizing they forgot to introduce Scar and explain who Scar is to their audience, because they also just assume everyone knows Scar lmao. Some people really just do not need to be introduced.)
HKSJHDKJSDHS no really that is just how scar talks about grian sometimes. "he" "that man" "the man in the red sweater" etc etc hskjdhsd love when he does it
but it's really funny that you point it out because it totally flew over my head when i watched the episode that indeed he did not actually mention grian's name and just Assumed that is so funny shdkjhs
So, I don't have time to watch Scar's streams (to my great dispair) and I know it's just my algorithm and all, but based solely on clips I see, it looks like Scar has exactly three topics to talk about besides the game he's playing: star wars, disney, and Grian, which is hilarious to me, and your posts do nothing to dissuade this notion ksndmdmdm thank you for that
LMAOOOO HSKDJHSKJDHS that is fairly accurate im ngl, i'd add his family as a fourth topic and you've got a pretty accurate assessment of what the average scar stream is like hskdjhskdjs
Lmao any more notes on cubs characterization or video recs so I can get an idea? It's going to a good cause
HUMMM i'm far from being a cub scholar, really, but i think checking out his pov of the exile business from s10 might be helpful? so you can get a grasp on what his level of insanity is like hsjdskds looking at older seasons like 6 or earlier might be useful too since that's when there was a ton of convex funny business but honestly i have yet to watch those ✊ AND OF COURSE. you Must look at cubfan135-facts for the truest cubfan facts. that one's genuinely a must in your list
but yeah cub's a great dude, and he always has scar's back. but at the same time he is also Very unhinged. he will commit to Any bit you present him with and make it worse. that's why the exile is a good example, guy was devising brand new ways of physical and psychological torture. and when scar did the (brainwashing torture) comfort room cub was instantly yay ^__^ im going to spend so long here ^___^ this is so comforting! and so on like cub is just a guy who doubles down and makes things worse. hes not going to be the voice of reason he is an enabler
last season he built the torture labyrinth and from his pov it almost seemed like a normal and reasonable challenge and then scar tried it on stream for his birthday and well the stream is well over 5 hours long. and cub stayed with him for every step of the way, during all those 5 hours ! (other notable labyrinth attempts would be joel also raging at it, etho who got so frustrated by it his nose started bleeding and... pearl pearlescentmoon who managed a 34 minute personal best at her 4th attempt ! that's the minigame queen for you). so yeah id say he goes aaaaall out on the crazy but comes across as calm and composed. that's his gap moe
To distract you from the boundary thing you're upset abt, teams came out!!!!! It's time!!!!
HKSJDHKSDJHS no actually thank you i could use the distraction or ill do something unwise (fighting people on the internet) sjkhdlksjdhs
and yes i got my team a bit ago!!! slightly intimidated but excited, i think we're going to do something very cool shkdjhsds how about you?
