there's this super talented guy i know and honestly i got a crush on him last year after my friend was like "if i could screw a voice...." and then i agreed and i wondered why i was so giggly after that
BUT ANYWAYS he's like supertalented, got into national honor choir this year (i mean like wtf??? how do you do that?????)
one time he had a little gig at some place downtown, a jazz band from our school was playing there and he and somebody else went to sing

this is gonna be long just a warning
performing/music is so important to me. there's so much you can do with it, so much you can twist and change and manipulate so that your audience experiences a certain thing. take the song stitches (frnkiero) for example. it's brilliant. at least for me, it made my stomach feel woozy the first time i listened to it. like, slight discomfort. i'm not sure what it is about it, the rushed brokenness, mixed with the catchy bassline? the sudden changes from whispering to yelling, and then slowing down again, overcome with thought? it's beautifully put together. the way that he isn't even really singing?
there are a few songs like that that i could pull apart that way, whether it be the song itself, the lyrics, or both. early sunsets over monroeville. cemetery drive. famous last words. trees. a car, a torch, a death. march to the sea. trapdoor. music and warm bodies (lostalone). drowning lessons. the list goes on and on. the artist can portray a certain feeling or message to audiences beyond their imagination.
