hello world i am currently knitting my very first sweater and i feel ALIVE! i'm following a series of blog posts by @karentempler titled "how to improvise a top-down sweater" which i highly highly recommend- after spending far too long scouring the internet for the perfect sweater pattern to match the vision in my head i finally found a way to make it up as i go and i am so thankful and excited!

I haven't felt like working on my sweater in a long time. Maybe because I'm eager for spring. I decided last night to give myself a due date of the end of April to get it finished, and then ended up finishing a sleeve. I'm in the home stretch now. 🙂 #knitting #myfirstsweater

I'd say I'm about 95% done. 🙌 Things left to do include fixing the far-too-tight bind off on the body, weaving in all of the ends, and blocking. It's definitely bigger than I had hoped it would turn out, but it's bigger in a cozy way at least. I'm pretty excited that I'll be able to wear it soon. #knitting #myfirstsweater

I was having trouble with large holes in the armpit when I was picking up stitches for the sleeve. I managed to fix it for the most part by picking up extra stitches in strategic spots and then knitting them together. The armpit is still a little sloppy, but maybe it'll block out, and maybe no one will look at my armpits. 😬 #knitting #myfirstsweater
