I've decided to explain a little bit about the situation that has happened recently, in case if any of you just saw a post that blackened me and my Adoribull group.

We have strict crediting policy. No sharing posts without credit (link to tumblr or nickname if artist is only on russian social media) and no sharing if there is info on artist social media “please don’t repost” etc.

Some artists absolutely do not want their artwork reposted, not even with credit and source links. I fully understand and respect that, so I always check their social media profiles first to find out. If I have any doubts, I always ask for permission. And now I was accused of being art thief and I can’t even reblog it and defend myself. She was out of line questioning our policy and accusing us of being thieves, so she got kick out from the group.

Sharing art with credit is not considered stealing. Stealing art is either claiming it as your own, not giving proper credit, cropping out signatures/watermark or altering it and re-posting, etc. In fact, people can use things like articles and pictures in their private works as long as they give credit and aren't doing anything public or commercial with it.

But as I said, I never post art if there is "please not repost" information included on artist social media, and I always ask for permission if I am not certain. I always give a proper credit and try to promote artist by adding a nice comment complimenting the work and encouraging others to check it out. And in fact a lot of artists with not many followers was grateful, cause thanks to my group they got many new notes and followers. But If an artist will ask me to take down a piece of work of theirs I’ve posted, I will do it immediately.

I added some proofs that I am asking for permission and respecting if artist say no. Sadly only ten, cause Tumblr has a limit, but I have much more screenshots.
