Couple days late but still have to talk about it. Fruits Basket Season 1 has come to a close and all I have to say is wow. A lot of people told me not to get my hopes up when the reboot was first announced a couple years ago. But from the first trailer I saw I knew, I KNEW! That they would get it right this time. And they completely have. This anime follows the books so closely and the few creative liberties they have taken I support (with the exception of one that I just felt was not necessary but it didn't upset me). The new art is gorgeous, I understand that the art is different and that upsets some people but our author/artist was young when she first started Furuba. If you look at the art comparison from the first volume to the last, it is completely different and this anime captures more of her ending art (which was better and showed her growth). The art is beautiful. The sound track, though repetitive, reminds me so much of the feelings that Your Lie In April stirs. It is beautiful, captivating, and helps ready your heart for that bomb.com dialogue Tohru is about to lay on you. The voice actors are talented and have really captured the characters that I love so much and I'm thankful for it. Over all this first season makes me so happy and gives me hope that other series that have been done a disservice will have there moment in the redemptive sun one day. I am greatly looking forward to season 2. I am ready for the waterworks to really begin as we dive into the next arc. A huge thanks and shout out to everyone who made my dreams come true on the Furuba Reboot project. Genuinely an amazing job.
