Which horse show?! My aunt trains Arabians out west and spends a lot of time around Scottsdale at horse shows.

That’s the one we went to! It was my first time and last night there were a lot of finales. We caught the tail end of the jumping competition, and one of the riders was 10 years old holy cow. Gosh, Arabians are gorgeous horses!

Okay, I had to look up what that is, and my soul is hurting just thinking about it. But I’m glad you had fun :D I’ve always been curious about crossfit. It looks equal parts thrilling and frakking frightening.

I did in fact sleep the whole night last night :D

And now it’s Friday, I’ve finished nearly all my work for the week (a couple meetings notwithstanding), and I had a very good coffee this morning. So the Happy is still hanging around :P

It hasn’t been a pleasant day, to say the least. It’s hard to think of her as really gone. *hugs all of you tightly*

@sekritjay, she was a fantastically smart woman who loved baking and experimenting in the kitchen. She wrote beautiful poetry, in both French and English, and loved her husband and young son more than anything. On occasion, she could be overdramatic, self-satisfied, and intransigent, but even these infrequent flaws paled in comparison to her compassion, selflessness, and readiness to forgive. She had a wicked sense of humor and was often self-deprecating. We had a friendly rivalry rooted in her studying French and my studying Spanish (Mexican Independence Day was usually filled with trading playful barbs), and our mutual friendly ribbing continued when we went to rival universities. She taught middle school for a few years before deciding to stay home to raise her son—a miracle child she never thought she’d be able to have—and she was passionate about and invested in her students the way everyone hopes their children’s teachers will be. The hole she’s left can’t be filled.

no don't squat like me. make sure you train glutes and hamstrings or you'll rely on your quads too much and end up with knee issues...

Well I know what you’re getting for Christmas this year...

(Hint: it’s a hip circle)

Also, I just switched to low bar squats a few months ago and my glutes and hamstrings have been growing like crazy. But I know low bar is much more powerlifting oriented.
