Writing trademark: I haven’t read many of your fanfics, but for things you write in general I associate semicolons with it. Not in a bad way! Other people don’t tend to use them much I guess.

Ahaha. Guilty as charged. (Although I think I use somewhat fewer semicolons nowadays than I did at one point! There was a time that I hardly wrote a sentence without a semicolon in it.)

What’s your favourite thing about Mio?

Hello! Sorry if this took a little bit to get to, life has been so busy lately as you can tell from my sparse posting. Anyways, I would have to say that my favourite thing about Mio is the fact that I can relate to her in a lot of ways. Both of us are smart and do well in school, both grew up playing an instrument (I grew up playing the piano but I still relate a lot more to Mio than Tsumugi), both of us are shy but would make good friends once you get to know us, and while we both work hard we still know when to have fun too.

When Walt looks around at the Grey Matter things on the wall, it mentions they worked on “molecular switches” Do you think this has relevance in the same way as Walt’s lecture on chirality, or is it just a background prop?

Hmm! Interesting thought. You could definitely connect that to the idea that this episode marks a major shift for Walt, yeah!

I’m not 100% convinced that connection is necessarily intentional, though, while the chemistry lectures definitely are. It’s one headline, and a bit more of a stretch - the kind of thing that strikes me as something that could easily be simply a coincidence, though it also might not be. Meanwhile I would bet large amounts of money that my reading of the chemistry lessons is exactly what the writers were going for.

Bad translation of an idiomatic expression. “Soften your facial expression” is better wording. Unfurrow your brow. Unpurse your lips. Release tension on your cheeks. Essentially, relax your face muscles

What's the story behind your old laptops' names?

There’s not much of a story; I just name them the first Japanese Pokémon name that pops into my head, pretty much. Yukimenoko was a white Sony VAIO, Genosekuto is a dark, dull metallic gray IdeaPad. (Should Genosekuto have been purple? Maybe. But it was still the first name that popped into my head. I even went to look for a more appropriate Pokémon but by that point my brain had already decided it was Genosekuto.)

Can you catch ghost marowaks on other floors if you don’t have the silph scope?

When you don’t have the Silph Scope, they’re all unidentified ghosts, which is another special case - they too will dodge any ball.
