Where do broken hearts go?
This line is famously known as a part of Whitney Houston's hit, and most recently, it has taken over the social scene as a tagline of the movie "That Thing Called Tadhana".
Escaping is not running away. Well to some, it could be. But I guess escaping is just wanting to forget about some realities even for a little time, say a few hours.
Twenty-somethings like me have crisis written all over our foreheads. Â Deep or petulant problems arise at this stage in one's life. We are all brokenhearted, I'm not pointing to romantic relationships, but I'm speaking about the entire complexity of how some things are. Take me as an example, I felt brokenhearted when my favorite skirt got ripped right in the middle. I also feel the same downheartedness when I worry of where my life is heading, or when I realize I've missed a lot of chances in life.
So again, where do broken hearts go? Mace in the movie went to Sagada, in my case, I am in Abu Dhabi. I'm here for a new chapter. I'm here because I was given this chance and I'm crossing my fingers.Â
Books are my escape. They are just comforting and welcoming, I can't be any happier when I chanced upon this bookstore, it's just like being in National Bookstore in the Philippines! If only words could describe the elated feeling I had when I entered the bookstore. I had some documents certified for work and after doing so, I lost myself in the bookstore.
I've been here for more than a month, I could settle down and grow old here. My aunt, sweet and thoughtful as she is, decided to squeeze in some frappe and cheesecake time despite her busy schedule so that we can have a mini celebration for the good news we had this week.
Yes clothes, makeup, and shoes are a high for me, but books, they are on a higher level.
So this is it, for today. I'm at Marina Mall, lost. Ha-ha just kidding!
