Colours Of the prayer flags, the monks' robes and the warm sweaters stand a stark contrast to everything around. This was especially true as we drove towards Sumdo on the way to Kinnaur from Kaza. The few green patches that we were seeing were replaced with bright brown mountains and equally brown waters of the Spiti river. What also stands as a strong contrast are the road conditions. One moment you are stuck in the middle of several landslides and then suddenly, you are on one of the smoothest roads you've ever been. The reason for this drastic change is clear as you reach Sumdo. We aren't sure which village these apple trees belong to. We had walked up to one of Chango's monasteries. Drive to see Perito Moreno, Argentina, Andes #HimalayasOrAndes When we decided to go deep south to Patagonia at the peak of the southern hemisphere winter, it was for just one reason - to see the wonder that is the Perito Moreno glacier. We had a photo of this glacier some years back taken by one of our Couchsurfing guests. We couldn't believe the sight then and now even after having seen it with our eyes and stared at it for hours, we can't believe we have actually seen it. The stunningness began with the drive to the Los Glaciares National Park which houses the Perito Moreno. It was the coldest morning of our lives so far. We were covered in layers - all our clothes were on us this morning. The Andes, in both, Argantina and Chile surrounded us. This was our first real introduction to this massive mountain range. As tall, as varied, as awesome and as filled with wonder as our Himalayas. ----- This summer (15-21 August and 1-9 September), we are organising our first group tour - a road trip to the Spiti valley in the Higher Himalayas on board a luxury truck!
