First thing I notice about new people?

Well uh, probably their clothes. I suck at faces and names but their clothes are what I latch onto. This whole "change you clothes" thing makes identifying people really hard for me lmao.

If you mean online, intro tone. However they talk when we first meet online will shape my opinion of them by a bunch.

Pet peeve

Mind went blank for a minute but my friends saved the day by reminding me how much I despise people who just comment "update" or "update soon" or "when are you updating" on my fics.

I have a life and a schedule for my updates, you know when I'm updating, it's in the tags and the authors notes.

I never said I was going to make the characters into those creatures... but I'll roll with it in this case. (Personally I find benrey to be more dragon like, but if you're here you probably already knew that.)

Burning shit was fun. Be it a random barn or a giant bank bubby didn't particularly care.

Their only job during the heists was to break down barriers, cutting through heavy metal with their fire and claws, but if they were being entirely honest they would rather be out there roasting some boot boys.

Their fire burned bright blue as they slowly cut through the heavily armored door but they were quickly getting bored. They wanted to tell the others but dammit, they had the most important job here! It was only a job they could do and they could always burn some cops when they were done right?

They growled as they pushed their fire to burn brighter and their claws to move faster. They were almost through and any second now they would be able to grab the loot and start frying people. They were getting impatient, sharp teeth aching for something to bite into and rip apart.

There was a loud bang as a fucking sword crashed into a cabinet next to them that startled them out of their rage. They looked over to see Gordon taking cover behind a cabinet as an officer quickly rounded the corner.

Bubby didn't hesitate. They pounced, ripping and tearing and melting the flesh below them. Gordon watched for only a moment before checking on the door. Bubby was almost through when they stopped, and the door was red hot still. Gordon took a chance, picking up the filing cabinet next to him and flinging it at the door with enough force that they both broke on impact, the chunk of door and the cabinet clattering to the floor.

"THE DOORS OPEN!"

Bubby looked up from their prey directly at Gordon, eyes wide and pupils slit behind his glasses.

"Awesome work bubby! Think you can watch our backs while we grab everything?"

Their grin is sharp and dangerous. Gordon takes that as a yes as he climbs in and Tommy and Coomer run over. Bubby runs out into the fray to take their place.

Gordon tosses out the bags and Tommy and Coomer grab as many as they can carry with Gordon climbing out and grabbing the rest. They make a break for the get away car, meeting almost no resistance as the cops have their hands full with the raging dragon. Once in the van Gordon tosses out a flashbang, signaling bubby they were going as they take off.

Bubby spends a few more minutes wrecking shit before letting out a wall of flames and taking off, flying back to the hide out/their nest. When they get there they're happy to see their husband in their nest and a massive pile of cash added to their hoard.

Okay I'm a cheat, this is a world tour, we're stopping every place we can (I say we cause @izzymrdb is def with me).

Absolutely necessary stops: Greece, Rome, France, Switzerland (I need something from there that I lost 😭), Japan, Russia, New Zealand, brief stop in Canada, the Philippines.

Most everywhere else in the world is on the list tho.

I want to stop in Brazil to visit sunshine (a friend of mine) and honestly I want to stop and see most of my friends abroad (and at home for that matter) cause like, I love them and wanna meet them.

If this was up to me, I’d choose oblivion, eternal non-existence, but I’m a Christian so: ashes to ashes, heaven, hell, the works…

atum: What are your greatest imperfections?

Social awkwardness. I want to be smooth but not too emotionally invested (does this make sense?)

My tendency to over-analyse things and worry too much.

How I get so concerned with outcomes that I sometimes (1) forget the merits of the process, (2) freeze up in situations that are horribly unpredictable, and (3) unkindly dismiss the opinions of others.

arawn: What is the most terrifying thing you’ve ever done?

I’ve answered this but I have another one: severing ties or refusing something really important, in person. I prefer to be honest if I can help it, but this is traumatic.

cernunnos: What is your favorite animal?

I love foxes, corvids (crows, ravens), jellyfish and bears.

apollo: Do you play any instruments?

It’s one of my regrets in life that I didn’t learn to play, but I sang in school choirs.

apollo & diana: Do you prefer to be up during the day or at night?

I prefer the night. It is quiet, everyone’s asleep and there are few distractions. Where I live, the day is hot and humid and bothersome.

aphrodite: What do you think of yourself?

Sensible but passionate, intelligent but also foolish and naive, terribly insecure but confident most of the time? I picture myself as a sort of private, detached dreamer. There is imagination and potential, and then there is this solid bulk we call a world. Sometimes reality is an annoyance you cannot change and you just want it to go away. However, it doesn’t, and you have to deal with it when you have to. I can’t decide whether I’d like to be a precocious child or a childish adult.

arawn: What is the most terrifying thing you’ve ever done?

The times when I wrote/spoke to someone whom I respect immensely, was in a position of high authority and also a virtual stranger, in order to find out things I needed to know, forge a meaningful connection, etc. Times when I start doubting my ability to do anything at all. To be myself. To be polite and unintrusive but also firm and decided, to mean exactly what I want to mean and no more. That terrible, self-conscious anxiety and the awareness that that reception you hope for isn’t even in your power to decide.

bragi: What kind of music do you listen to?

My tastes are quite varied. I tend to explore genres when I write, but left on my own I listen to soft piano ballads, classical music (choirs are my fave), jazz, music with oldies influence (I love oldies a lot) or unconventional arrangements/use of instruments (e.g. Joanna Newsom, Florence and the Machine). Good singing voices are important, and so are the specific atmospheres they create. I don’t like much current pop/radio-friendly music since they don’t do anything for me.

morpheus: Do you daydream often? Of what?

Somewhat. I have glimpses of an ideal future for warmth, but mostly when left alone I think about my ocs. They are my way of thinking through and making sense of alternative forms of experience.
