Blighted by everything I tried to forget.
Shout out to those with intrusive thoughts with the intense belief that if they even utter them or what they say to you, that it will set them in motion and speak life to the thoughts and therefore must never be uttered to anyone so you are left with no choice but to suffer alone.
I think part of the reason it feels so comforting looking at older photographs with the date on them is feeling like the people in them are safe in that world. Like if you climbed in, all that would exist was the bedroom with your toys and computer. Not realising or remembering that outside that room is where you are obliged to tread and did so, suffering severely at the hands of those outside the saftey of walls. Walls from a different time, the walls were safe but we weren’t.
Being numb is so easy, becoming viscerally aware feels like being skinned alive, like you’re a child again with nothing to do but pray for tomorow to feel okay again
