Long distance relationship Barmaro: trying new ways to communicate with each other including skype and snapchat (Zara teaches Nick how to use it)
They honestly fall asleep together on Skype all the time. They’ll talk about the day, what they ate, and what their plans are tomorrow. Nick always says that he wishes he could be with Rafael, that he’s sorry he left. For the most part, Rafael starts to doze off first and Nick will be like “Okay, I’ll stop talking so you can sleep” but Rafael insists, “No, I’m awake. Keep talking. I’ll reply, I promise.” He falls asleep a few seconds later.
On Snapchat, Nick is That Guy™ who sends Rafael scenic pictures of a highway or a city street with a deep quote or “I can’t get the thought of kissing you again out of my head.” They’ll also send each other goofy pictures. Nick will take a selfie of himself drinking bubble tea, which is BIG in California, that Rafael promptly screenshots and sets as his wallpaper. (Nick texts him the actual picture because he saw that he saved it, so Rafael saves that and deletes the other one.) Rafael sends a picture like this and Nick asks him to email that to him so he can set it as his iPad background.
