Hey there! This is a guide on how to use Anemone to add custom pngs to your Nintendo 3Ds.
>First, check and see if you Have Anemone! Then, Check what version! Versions 3.0 and up can manage badges for you.
If you have Anemone, but it is /not/ 3.0 yet, you can update it with Universal Updater, or install 3.0 from the Universal-db website. If your 3ds had FBI installed, you can use "Remote install>QR code" and use the QR code from the website without removing your SD card for this part.
Second, Prepare your images!
You can use just about any program to make your images.
You can make 2 sizes of Badge:
64x64 pixel
64p(h)x128p(w)
must be saved as .png
I made some freebies and threw those at the bottom of this post-
For most these I went to @pngblog (goated transparent objects provider) for quickly just finding some cute transparent object pngs, slapping them on some 64x64 canvases and exporting as a transparent .png
(credit @weirdpngs for the mamegoma stamps)
>Third, At this point you can either use a file transfer app like FTPD or directly load the images onto your SD card.
My 3Ds had a folder labeled for badges but if your version/firmware does not have a folder labeled "Badges", then just make one in the root of your SD card. (root= just like the main file of files)
Then put your images inside the folder labeled "Badges"
Eject your SD card
Fourth, Replace SD crd into your console, boot up, open Anemone!
Confirm that you'd like to dump all your badges, and it Won't give you any confirmation when it's done, it just takes you back to the regular Anemone screen.
Finally!
To apply your badges, Close Anemone, then on your Home Screen, select the setting menu in the upper left corner. (The house with a wrench infront of it.)
You should now see an option to decorate with badges!
