CORUSCANT was not so weighed down with security as the palace on Naboo. He knew the building better now than he had when they'd first met here, and without Jedi around, he slipped through undetected all the easier.

The vents and halls of the senate apartments felt almost nostalgic now.

The suite was lit warmly. Symphony looked to be in the midst of being dressed down by the handmaidens. Knowing one of them was bound to notice him before she did - and knowing better than to try and interrupt, lest the girls set after him like an irritable flock of little birds - Revenant leaned nonchalant in the doorframe to WATCH.

Historically, surprises had never done Puppy any favors. But he had a good feeling about this one, seeing as it was coming from Symphony - and his faith was rewarded.

The pair were, without a doubt, the cleanest banthas he had ever seen. He was used to seeing them on Tatooine, where everyone and everything was inevitably covered in a layer of dust, and the thick fur of banthas was no exception. But the fur on these two looked silky, their curling horns shone in the sun like a brand new speeder, and Puppy was immediately compelled to touch the creatures, to run his hand through their fur and maybe feed them something.

Bantha mouths were soft and always tickled a little against his hand. Puppy had hand-fed a lot of animals and still considered a simple bantha one of the most fun, despite that they were slow and not particularly... engaging.

He looked to Symphony excitedly, the animated little dog on his face hardly enough to convey his actual excitement.

it was the architecture that she notices first.  the  architecture  and  the  lush  forests  that  circled  the  planet  of  naboo.  it’s  breathtakingly  beautiful.  nyota  found  she  would  like  to  stay  here,  if  only  for  a  few  days.  while  it  was  not  the  hot  deserts  she  was  used  too,  or  the  cool  climate  of  san  francisco,  there  was  a  sense  of  tranquility  here.  even  if  a  war  had  been  recently  waged.

jim,  nyota,  and  a  few  others  were  escorted  to  the  main  hall.  tall  windows  exposed  the  land  beyond,  bridging  the  gap  between  ingenuity  and  nature.  nyota  wondered  if  this  was  intended  when  originally  built.

double  doors  open  and  they’re  welcomed  into  the  throne  room.  following  jim’s  lead,  nyota  bows  at  the  waist  before  settling  the  weight  of  her  full  gaze  on  Queen Arsinoe.  She’s  beautiful.  Regal.  Uhura  was  in  awe.

“Thank  you  for  seeing  us,  your  Royal  Highness,”  Nyota  added  once  Jim  finished  his  round  of  introductions.

 rex  knows  that  feeling  well.  they’d  tried  to  teach  him,  back  when  he  was  a  cadet  -  they’d  tried  to  teach  all  of  them,  tried  to  erase  it  from  their  genetics  as  best  as  they  could  -  that  attachment  would  get  them  nowhere.  don’t  bond  with  your  brothers,  because  they’ll  just  as  soon  be  leaving  you.  rex  realizes  halfway  through  the  war  that  the  clones  aren’t  much  different  from  the  jedi  in  that  regard.  no  attachment,  for  it  will  only  lead  to  heartache.  “ it’s  hard  being  the  one  that  survives, ”  familiar  sentiment  from  a  brother  far  wiser  than  rex  echoes  in  his  words,  “ or  stays.  hard  not  to  let  it  get  to  you  after  a  while. ”  then,  a  touch  bolder,  rex  looks  down  across  the  balcony  railing  he  leans  on,  hands  folded  before  him,  “ its  a  shame  for  them  then,  your  majesty  -  you’re  worth  staying  and  fighting  for. ”
