just checked ur faves page and wow, i dont see many grandleer shippers around here, so i wanted to ask if u maybe have any headcanons about them that ur ok with sharing?? its ok if u dont, love ur art btw dude keep it up !

@nakedprofessional gosh. first of all, thank you for actually reading my about pages! Two, thank you for asking! i fuckin love grandleer and have a lot of thoughts about them. i’ll spare uninterested parties by putting it under a cut (mobile users youre outta luck)(also ty I’m glad you like my art!!)

Alright so. I ship it in a lot of different ways, quadrants, personality settings, etc. I’m pretty fluid with Ancestor ships in that way. BUT I do have one way in particular I haven’t seen often (mostly cuz like 4 people ship this pairing but anyways). And yes, this counts as a headcanon (sort of).Ok. So Darkleer is actually PITCH AS HELL for GHB. He’s a Zahhak, he’s a Makara, something had to give. Anyways. It’s the typical Zahhak stuff, thinking he’s too uncouth for such an important position, finds his jokes and attempts at humor completely annoying and unfunny (not that anyone accused Darkleer of having a sense of humor), finds the mere existence of the man kind of antagonizing. But also, he’s The Grand Highblood and he’s in awe of him, and the man isn’t lacking in admirable qualities - mostly the violence, BIG fan of the brutality - despite his flaws. Darkleer hates him deeply, but respects him just as much. also, this is important, he thinks hes really fucking hot.

GHB, meanwhile, thinks Darkleer is kinda funny, despite the fact he has never seen the man crack a joke or even like, laugh really. Which is what makes him funny! He’s SO FUCKING SERIOUS! All the time! About everything!  No matter what dumb joke or prank GHB pulls, Darkleer takes it in total stride! It’s kinda sad actually. Normally he’d kill a guy for being such a bore but with Darkleer he finds it.......................... kinda pitiable. B) also, again, important; darkleer is built like a troll mac truck and GHB is into it.

so I like them having mismatched Quadrants, and I was also trying to figure out how you’d ship a guy like GHB in the red. I also like the idea of them misunderstanding each others solicitations (Darkleer mistaking GHB’s red advances for black and vise versa). Makes for good comedy and drama.

but more generally speaking, I tend to ship them as kismesis! How I ship them though depends on a few factors (how long have they’ve known each other being a main one). Vacillation is also always fun lol.i could go on about FURTHER INTRICACIES etc but this. is already lengthy woops. i clearly got a lot to say about this.

for the song thing,, Uhhhh, neigh8ors and kiss with a fist by florence and the machine?

It always starts the same with Vriska. She comes over uninvited with some minor complaint about her hand (that you built and attached to her for free, you might say) and, while sitting on your desk, kicks her legs idly, making sure to jab her toes against your thighs to try and distract you.

You grab her leg and lean in closer, glaring. “Stop.” She recoils, making an exaggerated gagging noise, but kicks her other leg harder, enough that it kind of hurts. “Vriska.”

“What?” She huffs, kicking again, and that does actually hurt. Damn her and her unassuming figure. “I’m not doing anything, Equius. Just fix my arm.”

You shouldn’t let her twist you around her finger like this. You bend her arm in the wrong direction and she yelps, pulling at your hold while you pretend you need to look at the wires upside down. “Stop moving before you rip something.” You hate having to clean blood off your workstation. 

“Stop twisting my arm, you motherfucker.” She snarls, her eyes starting to glow, but her abilities don’t work on you, or anyone over her caste. She’s tried many, many times before. When that, again, fails, she balls up a fist and reels back to hit you. “Let go.”

Don’t smile. “Try it, Serket.” You’re smiling. This shouldn’t be as fun as it is. Her fist connects with your jaw and turns your head, but that’s really it, it hurts but you’ve done worse on accident. You flick her in the center of her chest and she wheezes, reaching up to dig her claws into your scalp, right around your horn. “You never learn, do you?”

She yanks your head down suddenly and cracks her forehead into your mouth, and you feel yourself bleeding into her hair before she lets go of your horn. “You’re too full of yourself to even realize when you’re facing someone better than you.” She says, unironically, somehow.

You twist her arm and use your other hand to lift her and throw her off your table and onto the floor, your pulse beating too fast in your chest. Your lip is split and your mouth tastes like blood and the smell of her shampoo; you have a bottle in your shower still, from the last time she stayed over. She launches herself at you to try and punch you with the arm you built her, and you duck, swipe under her legs, and pin her to the ground with an arm over her throat.

She grins and punches you right in the globes, because of course she fights dirty. It takes a second to catch your breath, and then you grab her and slam her into the floor again, and somewhere between her punches and your careful retaliation, she drags you down to kiss you, even though you broke her nose and your lip is still bleeding.

You really need to stop doing this until she agrees to actually date you.
