I needed a last name for Catra in my church camp AU and I thought, "I'll be clever and translate applesauce into another language."

Well, duh, applesauce is a compound word in other languages (at least according to online translators). Examples are compota de manzana in Spanish (and google translate was worthless, gave a completely different word) and compote de pommes in French. So, I thought I'd mash together the French version.

Yeah, Catra Compotepommes just sounds weird.

Naming difficulties..ooc post

I finally leveled my horde toon high enough to make my allied horde toons but naming them is always so difficult.. Nèmain was only slightly hard because I just had to find the right warrior goddess name to fit her... but whay name do you give a moosecow?

Issues with Thrawn: He goes by his first name while everyone else in the Empire goes by their last.

Which works until you're working on a regency AU where everyone calls each other by their last name unless you're super close and it's like "Am I supposed to call him Mitt? I'm not going to do that. Is his name Mitt Thrawn-but then does Eli and the girls(Vah'nya and Ar'alani) call him by his family name still? That makes no sense-they've all been friends since toddler age and are secretly negotiating an OT4. And if I include THAT plotline is Thrass 'Thrass Thrawn' then? No Thrass Mitt."

I think we just ignore the fact that everyone else in his group being referred to as Kallus and Lyste and Konstantine and then you have Thrawn being referred to as his given name.

Yeah. Thrawn Mitt and we ignore narrative issues. Cause it's not actually regency era it's a regency ESQUE era. (Also fun fact: Thrawn's father is the Marquess of Csilla in this. Thrass' title is Earl of Rentor. Thrawn is the younger son so he's just The Lord Thrawn Mitt. Also I still haven't read the Ascendary so... Yeah. )

PokemonGo Problems

So... the first Electrike I ever caught in PokemonGo I named Spike, after Spike from Cowboy Bepop... And my husband caught me a higher CP one the other day... and apparently Spike is now an ‘inappropriate’ name.

On that note, so is Mushroom. (Granted I’d actually named my shroomish Toadstool, but still, interesting fact.)

I mean, I can see why they’ve been deemed not allowed... both reasons drug related... but fuckin’ hell. It’s the NAME of a man in an Anime and I don’t want to fucking change it!

They all sound cute, but I really like Eflyn. That's adorable!

I think my short list is Rhoswen or Elfyn. I feel like the spelling of Elfyn is cuter, but I also get the feeling that Rhoswen is gonna develop into a whole nother character on me if I don’t tie that name up now.

I’ll probably end up seeing what feels more right for her once she arrives.

So I was listening to all kinds of unknown piano covers on youtube.

And then popped up a video with a very nice melody.

And it’s called “Orion no Honoo”.

Which if I’m not mistaken, can be directly translated as “Orion’s Blaze”.

What.

Blaze’s uncle is Orion. He grows him alone and takes care of him since he was a baby.

I can see a pattern in how my story is falling to pieces while confronted with official stuff I didn’t even know about ^^;

Anyway, here’s the like to the melody- I find it shockingly fitting.
