What are your 5 favorite characters?
thank you!!! i used to post more nanbaka on another blog, but have started doing it here now.
my fav nanbaka characters? *visibly shaking* that's hard to pin down.
i can't base this off the designs i like best bc all the designs fuck so hard (Tanaka, Six come to mind). powers and abilities are also shaky criteria bc... hello?? Honey, Dread, Bio??? but their backstories and arcs (plus the themes reflected by it) play a huge role in my impression of them. and Futamata has an affinity for dropping the most insane character arcs outta nowhere. ((Rock, Tsukumo, the entirety of Building 5 – special shoutout to Liang for the development of his misogyny and relationship with gender –, and then there's the whole thing with Kojiro-))
okay so now u know where im at. here are my top five:
1- Murakami Tengu. Forever and always. Easily clears my three criteria AND gave me brainworms. Don't have much more to say bc I've already worked thru it in my mind
2- Jyugo. Everything about him is so deliberate, emphasizing the point of the series. Obvs bc he's the main character. But proving ur worth as a human thru passion and greed, and yet finding ultimately that the ppl at the top do not WANT you to develop.
3- Kojiro. He's just... got a lot going on okay.
4- Tsukumo. the way the anime jammed his arc in between Jyugo's reveal cemented him and how great this anime is.
5- Dread. There's so much going on w her. We haven't seen most of it yet. But. Twirling my hair. Just saying. Would.
