actually it's not that non-infected ppl can't see elf. they CAN. we see in the supervisor debriefing post-shiki's break-in when hajime (who, yes, was infected) brings up elf, other supervises note that they kind of perhaps think someone was there that hajime is hit. but their memories get muddled and confused. they perceive elf on some level, but it slips through their minds.

its a very interesting thing to write.

What about your question, It's hard to choose. I'm a big fan of good comedy so I can't compare manga and anime. Anime is good as comedy and nice picture but manga is way more deep and unique in it's art style but if I had to choose, I guess I prefer anime. It's always makes me smile

What they talk about / How they spend their time / Their everyday life

Deep down, Jyugo is such a sweetheart once he gets used to someone, so imagining him in a soft, cozy relationship is an absolute joy.

Honestly, I prefer the lighthearted atmosphere of the anime over the much darker direction the manga takes later on, so these headcanons are based on the warm, comforting vibe of the anime.

What do you two talk about?Jyugo isn't exactly a great speaker or philosopher, so your conversations are usually simple, down-to-earth, and deeply personal. Complaining about prison life makes up a good 40% of your daily conversations. Most of them consist of his sighing about Hajime yelling at him again or Uno driving him crazy with his card games. For him, it's a way to vent and let you into his everyday life.

Trying to find "normal" hobbies also becomes one of your favorite ways to spend time together. Since he constantly insists that the only thing he's good at is escaping, the two of you spend ages brainstorming things he might actually enjoy. You talk about what he'd like to try next, whether it's a new game, a particular dish, or a music genre he might end up liking.

Over time, you develop a tradition you call "Late-night confessions." Once the cell block falls completely silent, Jyugo finally lets his guard down. In a quiet voice, he admits that his shackles make him feel like a monster, or that he genuinely believes there's something wrong with him, or that he's afraid of the future. Those conversations are always whispered, and you constantly remind him that he is so much more important than his past.

Honestly, sometimes you don't talk at all. The two of you understand that simply sitting beside each other is already more than enough. Jyugo used to think relationships were supposed to be endless excitement, passion, and constant emotion, but now he's realized they can be something quieter and that this kind of peace is true happiness.

Speaking of cute moments. At first, Jyugo can be a little awkward when it comes to showing affection. But once he realizes you're his safe place,his person, he grows attached with his whole heart.

You even have your own little "escape dates." Since he can unlock practically any lock in the world, he'll sneak out of his cell without a second thought just to see you. He doesn't even need to escape the prison for real, he simply wants to spend some time with you in a quiet corner of the prison garden or an empty hallway. It's your tiny secret tradition.

Jyugo has the energy of a loyal but slightly feral cat. He won't always ask for affection, but he'll quietly lean his shoulder against yours or sit close enough that your sides touch. He loves holding your hand, though he has a habit of absentmindedly stroking your knuckles or tracing the lines of your palm with his fingertips. It helps ground him whenever he's anxious.

He also loves it when you cup his face in your hands or gently rest your hands on his collarbones or even on his shackles. At first he'd flinch, terrified that he might accidentally hurt you somehow, but over time your gentle touch becomes the only thing that can completely calm him down.

He tries so hard to act cool and unfazed, but that plan falls apart the moment you catch him off guard. If you suddenly compliment him, telling him his heterochromatic eyes are beautiful or that you like his hair, he'll immediately turn away, pull his ragged collar all the way up to his ears, and mumble something completely unintelligible while his ears burn bright red.

Nanbaka Character Headcanons

Winter time and cold weather!

Elf - Does a virus like himself get affected by the cold? Most likely not but under the silly concept that he is I imagine he becomes a lot more snappy and grouchy when fighting against the cold. His patience runs thin but he will crack a smile if he sees someone slip and fall from ice on the ground.

Mashiro - Most people assume he’s neutral about the weather because he rarely goes out but he actually rather enjoys the cold. While everyone else struggles to get anything done in the cold he finds it a great time to get more work done.

Isou - He strongly dislikes the cold because it always makes his back pain flare up. The moment the temperature drops he’s bringing out a kotatsu and refuses to move from it unless absolutely necessary.

Ikkaku - Claims that the cold doesn’t bother him just so he can tease the others for complaining about the cold so much. However he can’t hide the way he shivers every time he steps outside. Of course if anyone asks if he’s cold he’ll say he just needs to drink some booze to warm himself up.

Kojiro - He really hates the cold because it makes it too difficult to go swimming. He’s always seeking out warmth and is much more likely to be found bundled up in layers of blankets.

Fourth - Similar to Isou he dislikes how the cold seems to worsen his body aches. He’d often be found with the other man sitting under a kutatsu keeping warm and trying to get work done.

Kujaku - Cold weather makes it the perfect opportunity to try out new winter styles and she thoroughly enjoys all the sales when she goes shopping. Not only does she enjoy shopping for new clothes she also enjoys buying gifts for the other shiki members.

Mei - He doesn’t seem to be affected by the cold at all. He still manages to get his missions done swiftly and efficiently. Rather he seems more annoyed by everyone else complaining about the cold.

Ido - He looks forward to making seasonal warm foods around winter time however the cold temperature and snow makes it more difficult to go out shopping for groceries. Luckily he never fails when it comes to efficiency, especially when it comes to holiday sales.

Natsumi - It doesn’t seem like he cares about the cold at all.

Manji - LOVES THE SNOW somehow he seems completely unaffected by the cold and the moment snow starts piling up on the ground he runs outside to play in it.

Six - He tends to act like the cold doesn’t bother him but really he doesn’t like the cold at all. He gets irritated any time someone mentions him shivering and then refuses to wear enough layers that would keep him warm.

Yakumo - If hibernation for humans was possible that’s what he would do the moment it gets too cold. Good luck trying to get him to step foot outside or even get him out of his pile of heated blankets.

Jin - From what others understand, she doesn’t seem affected by the cold.

Tsu-in - She’s not a fan of the cold but she does love the beauty of the winter season. She doesn’t go out much and doesn’t quite know how to dress appropriately for the cold but that won’t stop her from going out and enjoying the sight of snow.
