my dumb little thoughts on tumblr's transphobia
i know it does NOT go without saying so im going to say it here now. tumblr's anti-trans/anti-black behavior and moderation as well as the absolutely ridiculous way that tumblr staff have been handling criticism including harassing people is fucking unacceptable and makes me sick. i really don't want my blog to be a place where people have to be confronted with the horrors of being alive but i do understand that we cannot have spaces where people are allowed not to care about the wellbeing and safety of other human beings, in this instance specifically BIPOC and trans people.
im probably not going to reblog/post a lot about it on here because as a trans person myself, i like to have a space where i can just cope and look at pics of kakyoin and smile at dumb posts. and additionally because i dont really think i have a following even worthy of being called a "platform" on here lmao. but REST Assured. this is NOT a safe space for cis people to ignore what's happening. this is NOT a safe space for white people to ignore what's happening and what's BEEN happening since tumblr's inception. by definition, the processes that police this website are biased and have always been and will always be.
also, i deeply believe that posting is not activism. i hope if you read this you can feel some assurance that there's at least one person on here who is livid about the state of the website. but that's really the furthest limits of what i can accomplish here. thanx anyways

Ok my friends. I am the happiest man alive. Allow me to elaborate: I've been really wanting a wheel bug (or any insect in the family Reduuviidae bc they're big, cool, and easy to ID) for my entomology class collection. I was thinking about taking a trip to a campus garden to find one when BAM. ONE IS IN MY GOT DAMN DOOR FRAME AS I'M LEAVING. I saw it and screamed because they are a.) very scary b.) have a painful bite and c.) Very exciting. And Isabel ( nanchons ) came outside when she heard my screams and helped me (with a very big stick and a large thermos thing) catch him and I am so grateful
