You guys didn’t have any problems coming to Chris’s tag to bash him before, why so shy now? 😘
Also, when did we ever “snap” or “lash out” at Mia’s stans though? I think you might be mistaken. That’s what Mia did to Chris in the game, not what we did to you guys :)
On a more serious note, I wrote those essays AFTER seeing Chris hate posts in his tag, so I had to point out the irony of hating Chris while defending Mia. You can go ahead and check my blog. There wasn’t a single negative post about Mia until after you guys came to Chris’s tag to bash him. Like I said before, I didn’t care enough about Mia before that, so I never bothered to make any posts about her. We’re not the ones starting trouble here. We just responded to the negative stuff you guys posted about Chris. I’ve even still got some screenshots to take notes, because I plan to write something to counter them in Chris’s defense later, as they contain obvious uninformed/misinformed takes.
And about Mia, I thought I said it clear enough before, but apparently you guys are still not getting it, so I’ll say it again. The problem is the irony of hating Chris while excusing Mia for doing the same thing over and over again.
Talk about “deflection”. The problem isn’t which character is worse. It’s the hypocrisy and double-standard while judging the two characters. Try not to deflect from that, shall we? The more you make excuses for Mia, the more you prove our point. Because, why not making excuses for Chris too?
And nancydfan, it’s good that at least you finally admit to hating on Chris through your posts and reblogs, even though you insisted you didn’t hate him before. Sometimes actions speak louder than words, you know? No need to sugarcoat it. But I would appreciate it if you don’t act innocent like Chris’s fans are the ones to blame when we’re just reacting to the negativity from your side. And why do you still continue making passive-aggressive posts about Chris when you feel bothered even after you tell us to just “scroll by” when something bothers us?
Sometimes you can’t just scroll by when people purposefully come to your favorite character’s tag just to bash them and spread hate. Especially now that we’ve got many newcomers to the fandom who tend to just believe people’s bad takes based on note counts because they don’t know any better yet.
It seems like you guys are new here so you might not know that Chris is probably the most misunderstood character in RE. He’s been the fandom’s punching bag since forever (people calling him steroid-induced boulder-punching a$$hole, people degrading him and his sister in the disgusting Redfield Bloodline/Lineage jokes, etc.). You have to understand why we can’t just sit by while newcomers come stomping into his tag to sh!tpost and spread hate.
And before anyone even go there, yes, we all know that Chris is just a fictional character. But he’s a character who gives comfort to many people out there. I’ve got many people telling me how they look up to Chris and that he helps them make it through bad days and hard times in their life. When you hurt or make fun of his character, you hurt the real people who look up to him too.
So no, I’m not going to just sit by while people keep clowning and spreading misleading hate about him. And I’d rather not vague-blog or hide behind anons like a coward about it, either.
I clearly said (in the replies) that I’m open for discussions, as long as you’re being civil about it. There’s no need to bad-mouth me behind my back and hide behind anons :)
