i changed the gender of one of my characters in the editing process, does anyone have any tips on how to work with the them/they/their genders without making the plurality confusing? ((ie if there are two characters in the group and i refer to one as 'they', it sounds like im referring to both)) maybe it just sounds strange to me since ive been staring at it for a few hours, but is there anything i should do to make it smoother or would it make perfect sense to a reader?

NaNo Update

I'm on my last thousand words.

It's taking me forever to write these last five thousand words. Not because I don't have them, or that i'm tired and my words per hour are dropping. But I keep stopping at land marks and succumbing to distraction (like this post). I keep saying "I'll start at 11. I'll start at 11:30. Might as well start at noon." I only have a thousand words to go, but it's slow going.

But I'm almost there. I'll get there. I'm in a rush, because I'm going back home today and I don't know when I'll be getting home, but I can do it.

I can fucking do this.

So I won Nanowrimo.

After everything, I got to 50000 words. Time to celebrate by putting this stupid book away in a dark corner of my drafts folder, sleeping for a week and playing Assassins Creed. And I might buy myself some orange juice tomorrow.

Thanks for everyone who was so patient with me this November, I'll be writing and posting a whole heap of prompts that I got but didn't fill for Carmilla in the next few days when I can bring myself to write again. So yeah.
