i actually agree with you pretty heavily. just like any cause there are gonna be passivists and extremists. Passivists who simply desire equal rights and believe that the media is oversexualized and women arent treated equal to men in this country (which is totally true in a lot of ways but not necessarily all) and typically go about it in a personal or more peaceful way. Then there are the extremists who are all like "down with the patriarchy!" and run across fashion runways shirtless and shit

I think most modern Tumblr feminists don’t realize their hypocrisy, and if they did, modern feminism wouldn’t be as much as a an embarrassment. The main problem I have with feminism is the constant spread of misinformation, using feminist websites and thinking they’re reliable, and the rampant racism and sexism. I’d love to see some of them act like that in the real world, and realize that no one’s going to take any of it.

im sure you get this a lot but im curious about how you view feminism. what is feminism to you?

This is actually only the second question I’ve gotten about this. I think feminism is the same it’s always been, the advocacy for women’s rights, but the problem with feminism now is the way they go about promoting it with their general hypocrisy. One example that comes to mind is the whole “Are you beach body ready” ad, when everybody got angry and vandalized it because it was “fat shaming” or whatever, when there was a male version, which was almost exactly the same, and no one had any problems with it. I’ve taken a few classes on health / fitness, and it’s extremely hard to maintain / get a perfect David Beckham body. It’s also hard to maintain a Victoria’s Secret model body, don’t get me wrong, but I think feminists now have a warped world view that everyone’s out to get them for being female when in reality the first world will bend over backwards for them. It’s a good movement in theory but in practice, it’s not working.

yeah but im used to it being in the low 40's and 30's when it gets really cold here! I've lived in florida my whole life and i've never seen it ice over like this. Floridians arent built for ice or the cold....this is the first time i've gotten out of school because of "snow"
