Rhaenys alive, hanging out with Daenerys? Sansa and Arya reunited?
Title: waves crashing and foaming rating: g Summary: Rhaenys adores her aunt, and Dany feels the same.
On Dragonstone, there are shallow pools that collect along the craggy coast near the beach. It's here that Rhaenys and Dany hide away from the prying eyes of the household servants and guards to giggle and share blood oranges sent from Rhaenys's uncle or other sweets that they're able to pilfer from the kitchens without getting a scolding. Rhaenys adores her aunt, and who wouldn't with Dany's sweet and kind disposition so much so like the both of their mothers. Dany, of course, feels the same, often resting her head against her older niece and curling up against her when the maester's lessons are particularly boring.
Every guest who has ever seen them together comments that they make a lovely image side-by-side, with Rhaenys's warm skin, eyes like the obsidian beneath the castle, and ringlets that are nearly as black, and Dany's classic Valyrian colorings. As any good princesses would, they accept the praise with demure murmurs, though Rhaenys desperately wishes to roll her eyes and makes faces at Dany as soon as it can go unnoticed by those around them.
At their secret beach – which isn't really secret but Aegon promised not to tell where it was unless they were gone a worrying amount of time – there is little worry about the rest of the world, with the growing talk of betrothals and managing the household of one's future husband. Instead, they dip their feet in the shallows and lie in the sands, not caring about the state of the rich dresses that Rhaenys's father gifted them. The oranges are tart and juicy, leaving them both sticky-handed and pleasantly full and satisfied. The warm rays of the sun and the sound of the waves crashing against rocks are so soothing that more than a few times they have fallen asleep there.
Dany whispers her dreams, wrapping herself around her niece and slotting her head beneath Rhaenys's chin for comfort. Rhaenys places a kiss against the crown of Dany's head, offering a small smile before brushing her fingers through her silver hair. In Rhaenys own dreams a river she's never seen flows mightily and something in her longs to go to it.
There's a whole world beyond this beach, this island, but for now there is this and them, and they're quite happy with it.

Thanking you 💛
His eyes open when he hears her breath hitch, and his heart stutters. He’s sure the sound can be heard in their room, it seemingly so loud in his ears.
“What are you thinking Kate?”
for every "🌹" received in my inbox i'll post one random sentence of a random WIP i'm currently writing
asoiaf fandom is lucky to have your thoughts. Just want to make sure you know that.
♥♥♥♥ That’s so nice of you to say!
Do you have any headcanons for minor asoiaf characters?
Boy do I.
I always saw Ashara Dayne as being something of an extrovert, but not boisterous, and that balances her out with Elia’s slightly more introverted nature. In my hc she’s a lover of history and is curious about her family’s First Men origins, so she has a better grasp of knowledge on the history of the First Men than most people in Dorne. But none of that means she’s any less proud of her Rhoynish ancestry. And that love of history is what Ned Stark falls in love with when they first meet at Harrenhal. And while the rest of Elia’s circle tease Ashara about her love of history, she gets her own back by being able to hold her drink better than the rest (she’s about on par with Oberyn). She also has a good grasp of politics and governance due to the fact that she was her brother’s heir before he had Edric.
Going farther afield, I always imagined Domeric Bolton to have the same romanticized view of the South as Sansa had, but to a relatively lesser extent. I think his time in the Vale made him want to earn a knighthood, but his father recalling him back to the Dreadfort disrupted that goal. He has a pretty good relationship with his father (or as good a relationship that can be achieved being the son of Roose Bolton), but he still sees his father’s dark streak. And the ways his father brought him up often tends to be in conflict with the lessons he learned in the Vale. He never addresses those issues with Roose, so he develops a growing feeling of isolation. And that’s what motivates him to try and connect with Ramsay, much to his misfortune.
One last one, because this is getting obscenely long, but I think Thoros of Myr had gotten to know Elia and her children while they were staying in King’s Landing. So seeing their bodies at the end of the rebellion is one of the things that really drove Thoros into drinking. And he never disclosed that fact, especially in Robert’s presence, because it would literally just be easier for him to down endless cups of wine than dwell on that memory.
1, 12, 24! (And one more you'd like to answer!)
1. favorite fic you wrote this year
I said my favorite ASOIAF fics in a different post, but my favorite Tudors fanfic I’ve written this year is “Gorgon Head.” Seriously, that story has no business being that good lol
12. favorite character to write about this year
Definitely Rhaenys Targaryen, daughter of Elia Martell! I could write a thousand AUs with Rhaenys and never get tired of all the ways she could’ve been, but never got to be.
24. favorite fic you read this year
Both @allegoriesinmediasres‘s story “Liminal”, and your story “And So the Sun Saved a Wolf.” I also have a favorite The Mandalorian fanfic, but it’s quite naughty so I’m not gonna link it lolololol
Bonus: 2. least favorite fic you wrote this year
Without a doubt “A Song of the Sea.” I had to rewrite the entire outline TWICE, and I can’t ever find the motivation to add to it despite hyping it up, and it’s just a constant reminder of how I have good ideas with no way to express them good enough for my liking. I kinda wish I hadn’t started this fic because maybe if I hadn’t IU would’ve been able to finish “The Girl With Blood Moon Eyes” by now :/
Went down a Theon fanfic rabbit hole today and it was amazing and courtesy your posts/reblogs, so thank you!
That’s wonderful @nanso! (my dastardly plan is working then!) Seriously though, I’m so happy I was able to point you to some amazing fics!
