Naomi being down bad for her wife: an edit
Hi! How are Naomi and Maya able to marry in 90s time? I’m not from America nor was i alive in the 90s but I thought that wasn’t legalized till years later. Was it a symbolic wedding and they get legally married later on?
This post should be going on my oc's side blog @ask-naomi-lynch instead of this blog (Just saying in case you wanna send more asks!)
I am also not from America nor was I alive in the 90s lol
Exacly! Gay marriage per se wasn't legalized at that time however they were two women who really loved each other and that knew that they wanted to be together forever so they had a small ceremony and THEN when got legaly married a few years after :)

Naomaya post-rescue reunion
Bc if BenPaul couldn't have one Naomaya will have one ;)
It was a rainy evening in Wiskayok, and Dr. Sutton walked around the hospital as if she was annoyed she had to even come here, these last 19 months have been horrible for her but they also had been HELL for all her colleagues, having to put up with her agressive and moody mood swings all day, its not that they didn't understood her, they get it, she missed her wife, It was understandable, but many of them would agree that these last few months they wouldn't wish them on their worst enemies, some even held secret prayer sessions on the break room behind the doctor's back to pray for her wife to return safe and sound and get them all out of that hell.
And one day... Their prayers were answered...
That same evening Maya stopped at the reception to fill out the discharge form for one of the patients, while she was filling out the paperwork, Jerry - the receptionist, a tall, chubby and friendly-looking man - placed a tray of food in front of her.
''Doctor Sutton...'' Said Jerry with a little smile on his face ''Would you mind bringing dinner to the patient in room 58?'' He asked
Maya was not in the mood, she looked from her paperwork to the tray and from the tray to Jerry.
''Do I look like a nurse to you?'' She asked, her voice tired and annoyed
''I know you're not but that's the thing most of the nurses are busy and the patient has asked two times for their food already'' Jerry said, trying -and failing- to hide the smile.
''Well then tell them to wait, this is not a fucking hotel we don't have room service here...'' Said Maya as she continued filling out the form, but before even realizing Jerry took the pen from her hand.
''Maya...'' He said, this time more firmly ''Please... They really need it... C'mon it doesn't cost you anything...'' He said sliding the tray closer to her ''Pleaseee....?'' He asked with puppy eyes
Maya looked at him annoyed, then sighed as she grabbed the tray.
''58 you said?'' She asked
''Yeah! go go!'' Jerry encoraged her, and Maya went to the room she was told.
She entered the room with one of the beds empty where the other patient was hidden behind the curtain that covered the other bed.
''Good evening im Doctor Sutton...'' She said as she walked towards the other bed ''Don't mind me im just here to give you your fo-'' Maya gasped as soon as she placed the tray on the hospital table, quickly covering her mouth with both hands when she finally saw who was the patient Jerry so wanted her to see.
Naomi looked at her wife with a teasing smirk as she put her book on the nightstand.
''Well good evening Doctor Sutton, nice to met 'ya'' Naomi teased as she eyed her wife flirtaciously ''Are 'ya single?'' She chuckled
Maya was so overwhelmed by the sight of Naomi, that she just stood there, frozen. Her eyes filled with tears, her heart pounding wildly in her chest. She couldn't believe it was really her, her wife, was there, sitting on the hospital bed, alive and well.
Maya tried to speak, but the words stuck in her throat. She wanted to hug her, to touch her, to make sure she was really there, but her body refused to move.
''Naomi...'' she finally managed to whisper, her voice shaky and filled with disbelief.
Naomi's face softened as she smiled warmly
''Come here Bombom... C'mon...'' She said as she opened her arms for a hug.
Maya's heart skipped a beat at the sound of Naomi's voice calling her favorite nickname. Her body moved on its own accord, closing the distance between them. She practically threw herself into Naomi's arms, wrapping her own arms tightly around her wife's neck.
'You're here...' she whispered. 'You're really here...'
''Yeah...'' Naomi said softly ''Had a wild time out there Il tell you that...''
Maya pulled back just enough to look into Naomi's eyes, her eyes wide and glassy as she frantically studied her wife's face, checking for any injuries. She ran her fingers gently through Naomi's hair, almost as if she was trying to convince herself that she was real, that this wasn't just a dream.
''Jesus Christ I just... I-I don't... Where...? How...?'' Maya was overwhelmed, she didn't knew what question to ask first, that's when she felt her wife's right ear, or like what was left of it.
''Jesus what happened to your ear?'' She asked, her voice not louder than an anxious whisper as she looked at the wound
''Oh yeah about that... You remember that soccer team I told you I was going to nationals with?'' Naomi said
Maya nodded, her hands still cupped Naomi's face, taking her in.
''Yeah... What about them?'' She asked hesitantly
''Well uh...'' Naomi thought carefully how to tell her wife this ''Well long story short... One of the kids blew it off...''
Maya's face filled with shock and horror at her wife's words.
"Blew it off?" She repeated, her voice shaking. "What on earth do you mean they blew it off?"
''I mean that he grabbed a riffle and shoot me in the face with it... But he was angry so his aiming was shit and... He just took an ear off... Angry teenagers are wild...''
Maya couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her mind was racing as she tried to process the information.
"Jesus Christ Naomi... that's...that's insane..." She said, her voice betraying her shock and disbelief.
''Are you...? Are you hurt anywhere else..?'' She asked, her hands still roaming over her wife's body, checking for any other hidden wounds
"Uh... I had a dislocated wrist but I popped It back in place like you taught me to... They already did some X-rays if you wanna watch them later... But id say its pretty well..."
Maya nodded, a mixture of relief and worry still etched on her face. She took a deep breath, still trying to process the fact that Naomi was actually in front of her.
"God Naomi... that's... that's insane. I... I'm just so glad you're okay..." She said, her voice still shaky. She cupped Naomi's face in her hands again, her eyes searching her wife's gaze.
"Yeah uh... That's actually not all..." Naomi continued
Maya's eyebrows furrowed, her worry returning to her face.
"Not all...? What do you mean?" She asked cautiously, bracing for whatever else Naomi was about to tell her.
"You remember that IVF I went under before leaving? Because we reaaaally wanted to have a kid?" She said with a small smile
Maya nodded, her heart starting to race at the memory.
"Yeah... Yeah of course I remember..." She said, her voice barely a whisper. "What about it?"
Naomi never stopped smiling
"You might wanna go check the daycare at some point during your shift..." She softly answered
Maya stared at Naomi, her eyes widening in realization.
"Are you saying...?" She stuttered, not even able to finish her sentence as the implication of Naomi's words settled in. "Its alive?" She whispered hopeful
"SHE survived..." Corrected Naomi with a proud smile
Tears welled up in Maya's eyes once again, her hand coming to cover her mouth.
"She...?" She managed to choke out, her heart soaring at the use of the female pronoun. "We have a daughter...?"
"We have a daughter bombom... A daughter with the willpower of a thousand fucking souls... Im not even kidding that kid is healthier than I am..."
Maya's face was a mix of disbelief, shock, and overwhelming happiness.
"I... I can't believe it..." She said through her tears, her voice choked with emotion. "Naomi... we... we have a daughter. A daughter."
She buried her face in Naomi's neck, clinging to her tightly like a drowning woman.
"Yeah... Yeah we do love... We do..." Said Naomi as she hugged her wife "Also... I hope you don't mind... In all our time out there I had a lot of time to think of a name for her... And like, I already choose a name... I hope you're not mad..."
Maya pulled back just enough to look into Naomi's eyes, her breath still shaky with emotion.
"Of course not... Of course I won't be mad. What's her name?" She asked, holding her breath in anticipation.
"Judy..." Said Naomi carefully, Maya's face lit up at the name.
"Judy...?" Maya repeated, testing how it felt to say it out loud. "I love it... It's perfect."
She leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Naomi's lips, pouring all her love and gratitude into it.
"Naomi... Thank you..." She said softly, cupping her wife's face in her hands. "Thank you for coming back home safe. And for giving us Judy.... Thank you so... SO much..."
Naomi's eyes widened, a big dumb bashfull smile on her face as her cheeks redened
"W-Well I missed this..." Naomi commented
Maya chuckled, her own cheeks turning pink at her wife's flustered state.
"Yeah... I missed this too." She said, her fingers gently tracing Naomi's jawline. "I missed you so much it physically hurt sometimes... I was going insane without you."
"Oh no yeah I've been told..." Naomi nodded, very aware of what her wife had been doing while she was missing "You've been giving your collagues hell in my absence I see..." She crossed her arms
Maya let out a sigh, a mixture of guilt and exhaustion on her face.
"Yeah... I haven't been the best..." She admitted. "I just... I couldn't do this alone. And without you..."
She took a deep breath, trying to keep herself together. "It was hard... It was really hard Naomi..."
"Mmh..." Naomi eyed her up and down with a flirty smile "God you're so lucky I like pathetic women..." She said grabbing Maya by the neck of her uniform and pulling her closer into a kiss
Maya let out a small gasp as Naomi pulled her closer, but quickly melted into the kiss. Her hands coming to rest on Naomi's hips, holding her tightly.
"You're lucky I love cocky assholes..." She muttered between kisses, her mind already clouded with need and longing.
"God I missed you being so done with bullshit..." Naomi answered back
"Bullshit? That's an understatement..." Maya joked, running her fingers through Naomi's hair. "You're bullshit incarnate, love."
Naomi gasped "Thank youu..." She smiled
"You're welcome..?" Maya chuckled, raising an eyebrow at her wife's response, god she missed this stupid bitch.
"You really are something else.." She said, shaking her head in amusement. "Only you can take that as a compliment..."
A while later when Naomi finally went to sleep Maya went to the break room with her collagues.
Jerry looked at her with a smile as soon as she entered
"You already saw her uh?" He teasingly said
But Maya was not listening, she was just thinking of all these months she spended alone, and just like that she started sobbing, but those weren't tears of sadness, they were tears of joy, tears of emotion.
Jerry's face softened with a crowd of "aww's" from their collagues in the back.
"Oh come here you..." He said pulling Maya in for a big hug, which she quickly accepted, letting all her emotions flow freely.
"I missed her... I missed her so goddamm much Jerry...." Maya sobbed as she squished him on a hug with all her strengh
"Oh we're aware..." He muttered as he patted her head
