Why would Sasuke marry a damyos daughter? I dont get how that would benefit the clan over bringing in a powerful kunoichi
Gonna start by saying Sakura is not powerful in the beginning and even when she gains some semblance of power, she is pathetic and useless. Partially because Kishimoto sucks at handling female characters decently and partially because Sakura's personality is that of a vain child pursuing a career solely to be near her crush.
Marrying her would not benefit Sasuke in any way, shape, or form. If anything, it would be a net negative. Is she bringing political power and influence? A dowry or any monetary wealth? Any social influence within the village? No, she's not, she's bringing legit nothing to the table, not even looks tbh because the Uchiha qualify as "otherworldly" in terms of beauty (AND power with even Itachi, who had abysmal chakra compared to the greats of his clan, being an S rank missing nin as a child).
However, marrying a Daimyo's daughter would be a MAJOR benefit and, imo, solve a lot of the problems the Uchiha were dealing with. Even the engagement period would be a major benefit because even a lazy noble would want to ensure their reputation was as great as possible.
One, it is the Daimyo that controls the village at the end of the day, NOT the Hokage. The Daimyo has final say on who is Hokage and I have no doubt that the fickle nature of even the Fire Daimyo would not be swayed from Fugaku if Sasuke was engaged to or about to be engaged to a daughter or granddaughter.
Two, having the favor of and connections to a Daimyo would force the Hokage and Konoha as a whole to treat the Uchiha with more respect. They would be forced to grant them more political power and influence, forced to give the police better funding, so on and so forth. Remember, the Daimyo of a land could financially wipe out a village (case in point, Suna was suffering financially because their Daimyo was outsourcing everything to Konoha AND cutting their funding frequently).
Three, marrying noble blood gives the Uchiha clan upward mobility. Not just becoming Hokage and making it a hereditary title within the clan (which is exactly what would happen with the favor of their Daimyo), but also the ability and potential support of the Fire Daimyo to take Land of Fire adjacent land for themselves and become Daimyo.
Which would happen (Uchiha becoming Hokage), by the way, because the Daimyo would definitely want his daughter marrying the best of the best - Hokage is deemed this within Konoha and so Fugaku would've been made Hokage and Sasuke after him.
AND because an Uchiha is an Uchiha, the Daimyo would give whatever to have claim to them with blood relations via grandchildren AND intermarriages. Being able to claim your bloodline has Sharingan potential?
Definitely opens up a number of other issues, though I'm pretry sure the Uchihas would ensure anyone that activates the Sharingan marries back into the clan or takes on the clan name - which, either way, is still a benefit to the Daimyo who can claim HIS blood has Sharingan.
Marrying a Daimyo's daughter would be such a huge boon. Lowkey wanna write fanfic about it lol.
