The Evolution of Technology in Naruto
I don't know how many people beside me did, but have you noticed the drastic change in the landscape of Konohagakure from up to and beyond chapter 700 of the manga? The two upper pictures are taken from chapter 1 and 3 respectively and show Konohagakure as we know it: multi-story buildings of different forms and heights. The rooftops are usually done with wood, there are pipelines running along the houses and they are either made from wood or look like they could be made of stone, though that could just as well be a paint-job of some sort.
Personally, I always though the plot of Naruto as set sometime around the beginning of the Meiji period in Japan. This era started in 1868 with the ascension of the Meiji Emperor the period was named after. The reason for this is that in Naruto the people are ruled by daimyō (feudal lords), who in the reality of feudal Japan ruled over great expanses of land and liked to wage war against each other. What they had in common was that all of them reported to the Shogun, the military leader of Japan - who lost all power when the emperor become the leader of the country once again in 1868. By 1871 these daimyō gave power back to the Meiji Emperor and their rank was abolished. So, since daimyō still exist in Naruto, it made sense for the manga to be centered around that time.
Actually, this still seems reasonable. If you take a look at the lower of the two pictures in the middle, you see the oldest remaining photography of Edo (now Tokyo) taken in 1864. The landscape is ruled by one-story, roofed wooden buildings. The pictures below show Tokyo in the early 1900s, when the first stone buildings started to appear and western influence is cearly visible (don't wonder at the colors, those are black and white photographies colored by hand). Therefore I'd date the manga somewhere along the 1870s-1900s. Since we are talking about an alternate storyline of real life, it could have been possible for the daimyō system to last longer there than it did in Japan.
So far, so good. The problem arises by comparing the manga to chapter 700, because they obviously don't match. As seen in the manga the wold of Naruto knows electricity and radio, but has neither a wide broadcast of radio programs nor television. There are pipelines for running water and technological adavanced medical equipment (at last to some degree), but no pools or cars. Messages are delivered by bird or ninja. Screens exist, but it's unclear how they work. The clan compounds closely resemble the buildings at the beginning for the Meiji era, while the rest of Konoha is slightly more modern.
Now look at the central picture taken from chapter 700 and take a look at those buildings. Those are late 20th or maybe even 21st century. We see Naruto working on friggin' laptop of all things, and that is definitely a >2000 model.
The 699 to 700 time leap spanned 15-20 years. So in those 20 years Konoha advanced more than 100 years in technology. That's simply impossible. Yes, they had certain technology already at their disposal, but then again such a groundbreaking leap in technology always needs a source, an event that sparked people to want to invent something as radically different as shown in chapter 700.
After the 4th Shinobi Worl War the world was finally at peace but why did the population of Konohgakure explode in a way that needed a whole new city to be build? Who came up with the idea that suddenly new styles of furniture, buildings and clothing were needed when the current style hadn't considerably changed in the last 80 years (e.g. take a look at the buildings in Obito's flashbacks, they look exactly the same as those seen in Naruto's time)?
I honestly don't have an answer for those questions. Maybe Kishmoto-san has one, but unless he reveals it I'll be disappointed in how chapter 700 suddenly changed the Naruto World from a (post-)feudal society to the 21st century.
[the manga panels belong to Masashi Kishimoto; the pictures of Edo/Tokyo are not mine either]

Una Naruhina Fandom que no puede esperar para ver Naruto last movie
Yeah, so i felt like talking about the ending of Naruto.
things i have a lot of feelings about;
Sasuke choosing to rebuild his clan with Sakura
Sasuke trusting Sakura with rebuilding his clan
Sasuke asking Sakura to help FULFILL HIS DREAM OF REBUILDING HIS CLAN
Thank you for 15 years Naruto!!
Honestly, I have been thinking about Naruto's offsprings. Like...is Naruto and Hinata the only two had did the nasty more than one time to make two kids. I can't be the only one thinking this. I would of thought Sasuke would be the one despaired but nooo. The Uzamaki family beat him by two kids. (I secretly blame Hinata's babeness appearance.) I bet Sakura asked for a child while Hinata and Naruto and friends busy making babies. Like it was all a completion of who have the better child the same generation.
