Super quick drawing for the birthday of the Second Mizukage, literally the best character in the entire series
(whisper) how about ~orochimaru-sama~ on the 27th B]
Whoops I forgot about the 27, and after a quick visit to the naruto wiki I realize it was his bday that day. Sorry :B
You know someone is a petty shipper when they need to belittle a character’s feelings although it’s been proved beyond question that said character never really stood in the way of their OTP.
Does this group of spiteful people who blabber about how the databook describes Karin’s feelings as “dangerous love” to support their argument that she never really loved Sasuke and ‘just wanted to rape him like the creep she is’ (because God forbid a girl other than Sakura has genuine feelings for him, as if that affects SS in any way) realize that according to the VERY SAME databook Sakura was starting to have romantic feelings for Naruto??? And if they claim the former as true they have to do the same for the latter as well??? Although Sakura never saw Naruto as anything more than a good friend and teammate, and the mere fact that the databook implies otherwise shows that by no means is it a legit or accurate source for those kind of claims???
Like, are they ignorant or they’re just so shamelessly clawing only on the info that is convenient to them?
Karin didn’t risk her life in the chaos Madara caused on the battlefield to save Sasuke’s ass because she just had the hots for him. She didn’t recall his kind smile at their first encounter when he stabbed her because she only ever wanted to rape him. She didn’t get out of his way so that he could be happy with the woman he loved because she was obsessed with him.
She did all these because she loved him.
She cared about him, she was worried about his state of mind, his well-being and, even though he betrayed her with only a half-assed “sorry” as an apology, she wished his happiness. Heck, she even helped bringing his child into the world.
Like, how can you be so unfair with her?
For the hundredh time, Sakura has not surpassed Tsunade. We can headcanon assume that yes, after years she has most probably surpassed her, she reached about her level when she was 16 years old after all and on top of it she has a talent against genjutsu, something Tsunade hasn’t been seen to possess. But to actually claim she has surpassed her by chapter 699? Or the Last?
We haven’t seen Sakura do anything original with what Tsunade taught her. This is why she hasn’t surpassed her. Naruto surpassed Minato and Jiraiya because he took their techniques to the next level; he managed to combine Rasengan with nature manipulation (which Minato couldn’t do), he mastered flawless Sage Mode (which Jiraiya couldn’t do) and later on even Bijuu mode. Same with Sasuke and Orochimaru, he got far stronger than his master was. Sakura is an amazing kunoichi, but what she did was simply master in the span of 3 years the skill and knowledge that took her tutor 40 years to learn and develop, and that’s because Tsunade herself trained her to do so.
And while I agree that genes don’t mean all that much comapred to talent and effort, Souzou Saisei and Byakugo Seal eat up the user’s life span and Tsunade has bigger life force than Sakura by default, thanks to her heritage.
Kakashi stating that Sakura has bigger potential than Tsunade doesn’t automatically mean that she’s going to surpass her in such a young age.
Hashirama praising Sakura’s strength doesn’t mean she’s stronger than Tsunade. Hashirama hasn’t seen Tsunade in action since she was what? A teen?
Sakura said she doesn’t need to use her seal to look young BECAUSE SHE FUCKING IS YOUNG
Sakura defeating Kaguya doesn’t mean she’s stronger than Tsunade. Do people honestly think that if it was Tsunade’s kick instead of Sakura’s punch the result would be any different?
Tsunade passed out after using up her seal’s chackra to protect the village, while Sakura didn’t when she released her own seal to fight and heal the army. And? According to Gaiden, Sakura seems to pass out often as well. The reason for both? Plot. Meanwhile Tsunade was bisected and still could heal the rest of the Kage, all that after surviving the battle against Madara. No valid comparison can be made out of who passed out when.
What Sakura has achieved is really, really admirable, but people don’t need to pretend she has surpassed her master so early to prove that she has come incredibly far. She has but, until I see her taking Tsunade’s techniques one step ahead by putting her own signature I won’t consider her any better or stronger.
And Suika is still a possibility now ^w^
Thank you for that post! I've been saying the same shit this whole time. I knew in the first 10-20 chapters who the pairs could be (if kishi went in that direction), it was so fucking obvious. I often feel like a good sum of the fandom has been reading a different manga over the last 10 years or so lol.
I’m very glad you liked it xD
Looking back at the early chapters, it’s clear as day that the canon pairings were Kishi’s intention all along but if I’m honest, back at the time I couldn’t really tell what was going to happen, haha. The hospital scene and the promise of a lifetime were strong hints that pointed against NS, but that could have easily changed in early part II, where Naruto and Sakura were getting closer during Sasuke’s absence. The potential however was never explored, Naruto never made a move and Sakura never stopped loving Sasuke. What did it for me was Hinata’s confession, where it starts becoming obvious that there’s a reason Hinata’s feelings are still there, and even more Sakura’s fake confession. It was then that I could honestly say that yes, if any couples are going to be confirmed, it would be NH and SS.
Naruto’s shipping fandom is definitely the most agressive and short of logic fandom I’ve witnessed. It amazes me how some people on this site feel this unrestrained need to prove that their ship is the main and was decided first, even when said ship is not even the matter of discussion. As if there’s any proof to know how many months, days, even hours the one ship was was planned ahead of the other lol. It doesn’t even matter when the course of the story clearly shows that both were meant to happen for a long, long while.
I honestly couldn’t care less about when that Hinata sketch is from, or which of the two pairings was Kishimoto’s first epiphany. Not only because it doen’t even matter, but also because none of these are needed to claim that both were decided in the very early stages of the manga.
Since early part I there were two candidates for Naruto (Sakura and Hinata) and two for Sakura (Sasuke and Naruto). After the manga ended and both pairings were canonized Kishimoto himself (x | x) and the VAs of Team 7 as well confinmed that the pairings were decided very early.
What we know for certain is that by the time the anime started in 2002, SS had already been decided. But if Sakura was reserved for Sasuke and Hinata is introduced as a potential love interest for Naruto, this automatically means that NH was also decided around the same time?? So I really don’t get what’s the point of debating??? The VAs interview doesn’t really provide more proof for SS than it does for NH. Unless people who cling on it honestly think that Kishimoto planned to give a happy ending to Sakura and Sasuke but leave his main character, who felt lonely and unwanted for years and craved for a family, alone.
And another reminder: Kishimoto confessed that at some point he considered making NS canon instead but, hello, NS means no SS as well. He had second thoughts about both NH and SS but in the end he stayed loyal to his initial decision because
Sakura changing her feelings for Naruto after all this time she loved Sasuke would make her look bad
Kishimoto didn’t want to leave Hinata’s genuine and long-lasting feelings unrequited
Both girls’ feelings were taken into consideration ^^
I feel like this chapter finally gave some charm in all this unnecessary Uchiha drama. Thank you Sakura!
