Unfortunately (but deliciously) I think it might be the other way. A daniel who is angry at armand, doesn't trust him or anything he said about his past, and who thinks he's too good to be fooled especially now that he's a hot shot prodigy fledgling... And also a daniel who is losing touch with his sanity as he tries to merge his human life with his new vampiric existence, who's being called crazy everywhere he goes and loses his temper on TV. Im saying this daniel might be very susceptible to marius' wise man bullshit. A marius who tells him that he's gonna take responsibility for armands mistakes and properly take care of him and educate him. Like the dynamic in the book wss so rotten and I think amc can make it worse
Yes yes absolutely. I think AMC also did something interesting by introducing the concept of Armand having these psychic powers where he can erase memories and create false ones. It kind of implies that his maker who is like over a thousand years older would have even more psychically manipulative power, right? How much of Daniel's sitting half catatonic in a room playing with miniatures was of his own mind's making? Could Marius use his power to 'calm' Daniel of his mental anguish? Or even to 'tame' him, since Armand could or would not?
