Seriously, what the hell happened with the Russos? They gave us an amazing Natasha with character depth in Winter Soldier, kept giving it to us in Civil War, gave us some quality stuff in Infinity War, and then in Endgame they gave us a Natasha that had so much agency and then they just fucking killed her. Like, what happened?

Best Day Ever

Bucky x Reader

A/N: So I wrote this while I was waiting at an appointment.

Warnings: two swear word.

You did not see that coming that was for sure. There standing in front of you was James Buchanan Barnes and he just asked you out. You didn’t respond, you didn’t move heck you weren’t even sure you were breathing. You were in shock. Bucky took you silence as your response.

“You know what never mind it was a stupid idea.“ He said sadly.

He turned and started to walk away. His look of hurt and rejection on his face kick started your brain into action. “Bucky wait!” You called after him

He finally stopped when he felt your hand on his right arm. He turned to look at you. “I’m sorry I was just shocked. I didn’t think you liked me like that.”

A shy smile crossed your lips “I would love to go out with you.”

His handsome features brightened with a large smile. “Great how does 7 sound?”

“Perfect.”

He leaned in and gave you a kiss on the cheek causing a blush to spread across them. “See you tonight then doll.”

This time leaving you with a bright smile still on your face when he was out of sight you placed a hand on your cheek were he kissed you the skin was tingling. You stood there smiling like an idiot for who knows how long. You couldn’t believe it you have been dreaming of this happening for so long and now here you were, you were going on a date with Bucky Barnes. Reality hit you like a ton of bricks then, holy shit you were going on a date with Bucky Barnes! You turned and started to run down the hall the way you came.

You shouted “NATASHA!!!”

Your room looked like your closet had exploded and Natasha was sitting on your bed as she laughed her ass of. “I’m so glad my state of panic amuses you.” You said.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry it just that you are too cute.”

You frowned out her “Come on Nat this is serious I don’t want to mess this up.”

“You’re not going to mess this up.” Natasha said.

“Really do you know how long it’s been since I’ve been on a real date. Undercover op sure no problem but a real date I can’t even remember the last time that happened.”

“Y/n you’re going to be fine.”

“What if this messes up our friendship?”

Panic started to rise in your voice. “What if he thinks that I’m this boring, weird, award person that can barely keep them-self alive outside of missions.”

“Y/N, stop.” She said.

“What if he thinks I’m pathetic and” Natasha got off your bed and made her way over to you

“Y/N, stop”

“What if…” She places a firm grip on your arms and looked you dead in the eye “Stop.” She told you firmly

Her voice softened “Y/N, you are going to be fine you are one of the most kind, caring, big hearted people I know and you are a total badass. You have nothing to worry about.”

“Really?“ You questioned

“Really, Bucky is just as head over heels for as you are for him.”

You smile back at your best friend. “Thanks Tasha.”

“No problem. Besides if he does anything to break your heart I’ll just break his arm.” She replied with a smile.

You couldn’t help but laugh at this knowing she was completely serious. Happy that she got you to stop worrying she smiled. “Come on let’s get you ready for your date.”

You realized that Natasha was right and you had nothing to worry about. Your date with Bucky was great, the laughter and smiling hadn’t stopped all night. Now the two of you were walking back to the tower hand in hand in no hurry to get back. The two of you were in comfortable silence and you honestly couldn’t be happier. You were approaching the tower when Bucky abruptly stopped pulling you from your thoughts.

He looked at you almost shyly “I had a great time tonight.”

“So did I.” He tentatively reached up and brushed a piece of loose hair behind your ear.

“I would really like to do it again sometime.” Bucky said as he gently cupped your cheek.

“Me too.” You bit your lip; he looks into your eyes that at your lips asking you for permission. You smiled in reply leaning in, Bucky’s lips met yours. The kiss was sweet and gentle but filled with love making butterflies erupted in your stomach. He pulled away slowly and rested his forehead against yours.

“Best day ever.” He whispered. If your smile got any bigger you were sure it would split face in half. The two of you started your slow walk back to the tower still hand in hand but this time your head lending on his shoulder. “Best day ever.”
