In honor of pride month I offer you two (2) ass doodles of my most self indulgent and utterly delusional hc aka transfem pluto. which is just pluto with a skirt because (s)he fucking deserves one.
Lottie is a great character, and I'm kind of mad at myself for not properly exploring her backstory, or her character in general, on this blog.
Most if not all of the exploration I've done on Lottie has happened in either in discord servers, or in my own head.
I feel bad when I see people enjoying the other characters and not caring for Lottie, but then I have to remember that it's literally my own fault. If I actually explored her character more on the blog, I imagine she'd have more fans.
As a writer, I want to make sure that all of my babies get the attention they deserve. Lottie's day will come, I promise. Whether it's a comic, or another literature piece with some pictures like the wedding arc, Lottie's day will come.
I just need to get out of this slump I'm in, and get the energy and drive to create again.
i love the term hater because it so perfectly describes how i feel sometimes. sometimes i just hate something and there really isnt a justified reason as to why. and that is okay sometimes. like i am a certified basil hater. yes he is well written yes i like his character yes i think hes a gremblin yes i think he deserves to be forgiven. also he ripped sunnys eye out so actually i hate him. my hatred is not based on anything valid really and the rational part of my brain recognises that but also! i am a hater. so all rational thought is blown out the window. so when i call myself a hater i mean "yeah i dont really like this thing and also i acknowledge i am wrong."
The word "Toxic" seems to have lost its meaning when it comes to Fandoms in particular.
No single fandom is more toxic than another. EVERY fandom has its good corners, and its bad corners.
The good corners will be chill people that casually enjoy the media. People who write, draw, theorize. Basic fandom activity that literally hurts no one.
The bad corners will be the people who harass the media's creators, bully and harass fanartists/fanwriters over portraying something "wrong", make threats if things don't go their way, etc.
Those bad corners are the Toxic parts. This doesn't mean that the entire fandom is toxic. You just have to find the good corners. And if it seems to you that a fandom has absolutely no good corners? Then either you're not looking hard enough, or that fandom simply just isn't for you.
The Steven Universe fandom is infamous for a lot of members driving an artist to attempt suicide for drawing Rose Quartz skinny. But this doesn't mean the ENTIRE Steven Universe fandom is like that.
The Voltron fandom is infamous for shipping drama, and people thinking they're entitled to a ship being canon and harassing the shows crew over it. This doesn't mean the ENTIRE Voltron fandom is like that.
The Bendy fandom is starting to become known for impatient fans harassing TheMeatly and his team for taking too long in releasing BATDR and giving no news about it because he's unsure when it's coming out and doesn't want to give people false hope again. This doesn't mean the ENTIRE Bendy fandom is like that.
I know the saying "one bad apple spoils the whole bunch", but calling an ENTIRE fandom "toxic" just because of a few bad situations is completely unfair to fandom members who haven't done anything wrong. You just need to find the good corners.
